The show is dope. I have listened for years. Both are experts on all MMA subjects. And both seem like cool dudes. I like how they break down so many fighters on the cards. From top to bottom. They will do the main card but also fights not on the main card. Extremely informative, The only annoying thing is they will drift into politics sometimes and they don’t like Cali at all lol 🤷🏾‍♂️.

You’ve changed my mind and become my favorite “must hear “ show because you’re always putting in the work when the other shows have other interests and don’t give the zealots what we need etc…. I’ve recently found for some reason I can only listen to MMA podcasts from people who have been in the business. These guys have been in the business forever and actually understand it. One of the few podcasts where it’s not constant neckbeards bashing the ufc and Dana white for clicks from fellow neckbeards. If there is any politics its objective and pertinent. Really a breath of fresh air from the typical negative content that seems to run the media.

Imagine if you could get your MMA news and analysis from an OG fighter and someone from the pioneer circle of MMA. Imagine no more, this is your show with Josh Thomson and Big John McCarthy. Let’s get it on!

I really enjoy the different point of views on this podcast and great content. Hey Dave, turn down the base or volume on Big John! It makes it hard to listen to some times.

Big John’s the man. Very knowledgeable, but doesn’t credit modern day mma. Thomson’s a hater and know it all. A homer towards his friends and wrestlers….he’s also a big time hater of the UFC brand.

I like the show. I hate that they name each episode with spoilers for fights. I wouldn’t give a bad rating if they didn’t do that.

If you want to cure your insomnia this is the podcast for you. If you want to hear unbelievably idiotic takes then this is the podcast for you

Listen, I’ve checked out all the MMA podcasts out there. This is the best one. The bad guy puts on a fine podcast, schaub has the fun fight companions-but all thats different. This is what your looking for. This show sets the table for the week in mma and reviews all the best matches from all over. Definitely better then espn.

Good podcast, josh is just so arrogant and dismissive sometimes. Gets old. Love big John

Being a Mma junkie. I love that I can come into work at 5am Monday morning, open up my podcast up and seeing one of the best Mma consistently posting episodes for me to ingest.

Love the enthusiasm and expertise Josh and John bring, but really wish they’d start off their episodes with reaction to the most important fights instead of the least important. Find myself skipping ahead by 30 seconds over and over again every Sunday, trying to get past the early undercard or Belator fights, trying to get to the main card and headline fights. Great that they cover the lesser known fighters, just save them for last and start with the fights most people actually watched the night before

They have street cred but I would rather listen to other MMA podcasts. They come off as arrogant IMO. Josh likes to “give people a hard time”. It’s really not that funny, it’s juvenile, and it gets annoying. There are other ways to be funny. They like to cover every fight in order on the cards. They should Start with the most important fights first. Decided to stop listening.

As an MMA judge, I love listening to this show and hearing feedback for how the big fights in the different organizations should have been scored. Whether you are a fan, fighter, coach, ref, or judge, you will learn a lot subscribing and listening to every show. Thank you Big John and Josh for sharing your knowledge with us!

Josh tells it how it is and pulls no punches, and I respect that so much. Big John is the best role model I’ve ever seen. He is the nicest most knowledgeable guy and an amazing mentor! Love these guys and this show!!

Love “Big” John’s insight on the rules and MMA history. Josh’s advice and experience regarding the financial side of MMA is valuable. I love that they cover Bellator and at least touch on PFL and One FC. That being said this could be a GREAT podcast, but sadly it is NOT. Too much time is spent talking “ish”on what they view as competitive podcast. I absolutely appreciate confidence, but they both come off as arrogant DBs… I could deal with that if they were at least funny. I unsubscribed to this podcast and only listen if I am desperate, want to hear something Bellator related or John’s opinion on a call. None of these happen that often. Too bad, because this show could have had a lot of potential. Hardcore Fan been watching MMA from the very beginning.

I now have four go to MMA podcasts that are professionally done, insightful and entertaining. Great chemistry between Josh and John who know how to push each other’s button and don’t always agree but genuinely like each other and keep it fun. Great stuff guys. One suggestion- don’t add spoilers (fight winners) to the topic lines of the podcast.

Listen, if you’re a fight fan this is the show to follow. They’re real and share authentic opinions others are hesitant to throw out there.

I’m not sure these two have anything positive to offer. Josh doesn’t even watch the full fight card, or learn the names of the fighters they discuss. It’s awkward and disrespectful. If you want to be professional, put in the work. Wow- Came back to give a listen after two months. James Thompson still can’t read, or remember Either fighter’s name- 1 minute in. What a douche

The amount of knowledge and information about fighting on each episode is really incredible. Really thankful that John and Josh help fight fans learn more about the sport. Josh shares the perfect amount of knowledge from the fighter perspective and John’s encyclopedic knowledge of the sport is only rivaled by Joe Rogan. Thank you both for the time, experience and knowledge each week.

I’ve listened about every MMA/Fight podcast and there are a lot. But, Weighing In has some of the best insight and content of them all by far. I, personally like the fight review podcasts that immediately follow the shows because the fights are so fresh in my mind. Big John was a great referee but he is even better served on the mic with all his knowledge. Josh Thomson also has incredible insight but for the love of God, stop with all the hate. It gets to be way too much. We need a mute button for that.

I’ve been enjoying this podcast from the beginning because I am a fan of Josh and big John. Big John is getting better each episode and the insight to the rule book helps with my understanding before, during and after events. Josh has insights from the fighters perspective and has personal interactions to draw from to add a personalized commentary. Thanks guys for all the work!

I consume most mma podcast I can. This one has taught me more about rules and the behind the scenes than any other out there. Big John is respected high and is always spoken of well by other colleagues. Josh is a pioneer and a legend of mma not just the UFC. Awesome content keep it up
