    Such an awesome Podcast
First of all, I never knew this many baseball books existed and I am a well read baseball fanatic. Secondly, these interviews are so intelligently put together that the listener is able to really get a full feel of the subject matter. Finally, Please listen to this pod so he keeps making more episodes. I can only go back so far to listen to older episodes. New content is a must. One of my favorite podcasts for sure.

    Soulful Baseball
Baseball by the Book delves deep into the heart of play. Bunt, Single, Double, Triple, Home Run! This podcast covers all the bases! And even some that I didn’t even know about, more and more.... The new intro music is cool. ...

    Great Podcast
I really enjoy this podcasts. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys baseball from any era. I especially enjoy episodes on the older eras of baseball, hearing stories of baseball’s legends are great. Highly recommend to any baseball fan.

    Excellent podcast
I really enjoy these podcasts. I am a life long baseball fan, but I always learn something even if I had already read the book. Excellent interviews.

Good. Potentially great. But not there yet.
I really like the podcast and the content, but the audio quality is frustratingly inconsistent. Part of that is because the guests are generally calling in over the phone (Justin, services such as Squadcast.fm and Riverside.fm provide far better ways to record quality audio for your interviews, and your guests can still do it all over their phone). But even beyond that, the volume tends to be inconsistent, with the host being at one volume, but the volume of the guest at times being low enough that it can be difficult to hear and understand them (resulting in the need to 'ride the volume knob'), sometimes with the volume of the music being overpowering. Yes, I understand that these are "only" technical and production issues, but technical and production issues are still issues. Hopefully the host and his production people can raise the level of the technical aspects of this podcast because THAT is really the only thing keeping this show from being a solid, and unquestioned 5-star show.

I just found this recently and I have become a big fan in a short amount of time. I listen to one episode on the way to work and another on the way home. Justin is an astute host and interviewer and the writers never disappoint.

    Best Podcast of this Kind
If you like reading and baseball this is the best podcast of its type. You don’t have to have read the book, it gives you a sense of the subject matter.

    The podcast for baseball
If you’re interested in baseball and its history, than this is the podcast. Stumbled across it when reading reviews of a new book. Now I’m devouring past episodes. Great work!
  • Podcasts Rock!
    Please just answer the question.
I’ve tried 3 different episodes and I didn’t last more than minutes with any of them. Every guest is quite knowledgeable but they talk endlessly. It’s as if they like to hear themselves talk. Great subject matter but I can’t do it.

For the person that counts the days until Spring Training
This podcast is a great listen for anyone finding themselves counting down the number of days until baseball comes back. In all seriousness, Justin has interesting and engaging conversations with a variety of authors. The podcast is easy to listen to, and often gets me searching at my library for my next book to read.

    A Gem
I can’t get enough of these podcasts. Justin really does an excellent job with these, and it has really helped me to expand my knowledge about baseball. I wish I had more time to read all of these books, but the podcasts are very entertaining and give you what you need to know. I look forward to every episode. Great job, Justin. Keep up the great work.

    Great Interviewer
I love this podcast. I somehow stumbled onto the Cape Cod league episode. I have been hooked since. Justin does just enough explanation to bring those without extensive knowledge of baseball lore into the interview. Made me me a regular viewing fan of the game again.
  • Stockmann08
    Fantastic, wide-ranging interviews!
Justin does an awesome job of preparing for these author interviews, asking not only about the content of the book, but its creation as well. I enjoy hearing about books I’ve never heard of before and continuously adding to my list! From well-known titles to hidden gems, Baseball By The Book is an excellent podcast!
  • InTitoWeTrust
Listened to one episode. Totally hooked.
Great interviews. Almost as important, good PRODUCTION. Listenable in the car, or when working out. (not all pods pay attention to “listenability” - it’s important)

Insightful, Entertaining, Informative. Three for three.
Really enjoy this podcast. Justin does a great job delving into baseball literature, and vares it up enough to include history, contemporary topics, and more cultural/societal subjects. Fascinating to hear from authors.

My all time favorite baseball podcast
I stumbled upon Baseball by the Book when the 2020 season was wrecked by the pandemic. This has to be the most rewarding, entertaining and educational baseball podcast I’ve ever listened to. It satisfies my needs as an avid reader and baseball fan, and I look forward to every episode.

    Best Sports Podcast Out There
Even if you don’t like to read, this podcast is entertaining. There is so much substance in each episode that you will learn a lot about baseball without ever reading a single one of the books mentioned in this podcast. Strongly recommend for readers and non-readers alike.

    Great Baseball Podcast
As a fan of baseball history this is one on my favorite podcasts. Recommend it for anyone who loves the history of the game.
  • BNT71185
    My favorite baseball podcast
I love this podcast so much! It expands my knowledge of baseball and gives a comprehensive overview of baseball books that give a much better idea about the contents of a book than just reading the back cover would. This podcast has kept me going through the covid-19 crisis when baseball has been postponed. I appreciate the extra episodes during that time. The host is easy to listen too and asks questions that I want answered. I’m always left with enough information to inspire me to read the book, but not so much that I don’t need to!

    Fantastic Podcast
One of the best baseball podcasts out there. Introduces me to books I didn't know existed, both recent and older books. The discussions with the authors are uniformly excellent.

    Must listen baseball podcast
If you’re like me, there isn’t enough time to read all of the books one wants, baseball or otherwise. This podcast features interviews with authors of baseball books and provides a thorough overview of the book with often fascinating stories from the authors. Justin, the host, is a skilled interviewer and can even make it interesting in the rare occasion when an author is better writing than talking. If you love baseball, you’ll love this podcast.
  • SouthwestDude
    The Interviewer? Not so much
This guy starts the podcast with, “the only podcast worth listening to” - some strange and uncomfortable boast. The questions are often stilted and awkward but, still, you will find out about some good books and the authors are usually marvelous.

    For the fan!
Baseball lends itself so well to books. This program celebrates that. Please listen and support the authors featured that inspire you!

    A welcomed podcast!
An excellent choice for entertainment and learning. Very useful to know about incoming baseball books and classics as well. Enjoy a lot the variety of subjects and authors. Justin is an insightful, seasoned interviewer who is very easy to follow. Very engaging. I love to read, and reading baseball books is a passion for me. The podcast offer an excellent guide for buying books. There are a lot of other podcast offering reviews and comments about the new books in the market so when baseball by the book includes classics as well is a very welcomed (fresh) addition. I’m in Venezuela so It’s is, officially, an international podcast. Pretty sure I’m not the only one. All the best for all of the people working in the podcast, please keep the good work!

    Baseball by The Book
Host is very prepared; which is a sign of being passionate about his show. I had just finished The Wax Pack and the author was on the show. Listening to the episode gave me even more appreciation for the book. I’m in the process of listening to all the episodes now, even though I have not read any of the other books...but thanks to this podcast I found several more books I plan on reading
