    Love this podcast!
I love listening to this in my studio especially when I am tidying up, or when I am driving to the art store. Something about having a great art biz convo going when I need to clean my favourite space (or driving to the art store!) just feels good. I have learned a great deal of useful information from Alyson and I always look forward to the new topics!

    Awesome Podcasts!
I have listened to many types of art business podcasts, but Alyson’s rates at the top of the list for me. She asks pertinent questions to all sort of artists and businesses who support artists. Each episode is so informative. I have learned so much! Thank you Alyson for this wealth of information you are providing all of us!

    Her voice
This podcast has good content and I am an on and off again subscriber. The way the host pronounces and draws out words sprinkled throughout her dialogue is distracting. She is intelligent and professional and both come across. A few sessions with a voice coach might be an excellent investment. I occasionally stop in for a listen to see if there has been any improvement. I am hopeful.

    Amazing resource and inspiring
I can remember listening to Alyson back in 2019 (before I went full-time as an artist) commuting back and forth to work, and continue to love her show today! Her interviews and practical solo episodes are a wealth of information for any artist. She asks fabulous questions and the overall quality is top-notch. I highly recommend. Well worth my time
As an emerging artist, I’ve found this a very helpful podcast! One of the most impactful episodes for me was the one with Alexandra Squire. However, there are many other episodes that have made me think and helped me move the needle.

    Among the Best
Certainly one of the art business podcasts out there. Alyson has been at this for a long time, and knows the field well. She has very interesting guests, is not afraid of asking tough questions, and doesn’t find it necessary to agree with everything her guests say. Highly recommend.

    The art journey.
Appreciate the professional and practical interviews and information. As a working artist for numerous decades I can relate to some of the challenges and also some of the success my fellow artists encounter. Having honest and creative discussions about being a maker is helpful. Thank you.

The topics and information discussed by Alyson and her guests in this podcast are what every artist to stand a chance of making it in this business of art. Super view of arts organization fostering relationships
Alyson gave us all a great view of how one arts organization helps artists with their careers. Her interview with Louise Martarano from Redline in Denver is eye-opening in episode 118. The conversation kept coming back to the power of meeting people, connecting, and building relationships. Redline's arts residencies sound incredible as they provide so many opportunities for learning and connecting. Too bad I don't live anywhere near Denver.

    Nuggets of wisdom
I have been given lots of brilliant nuggets of wisdom to consider as I continue my art journey. Grateful for all the freebie extras Alyson gives to the community as well. She’s thoughtful and articulate with her line of questioning. Not everything applies to my practice, but I always get something out of these podcasts.

    Love!
I love the last interview especially with the ceramicist who used to have a marketing company. I love your focus on business growth, marketing, and streamlining and enhancing your revenue sources. I like that you bring your focus in to these areas rather than exploring all of an artists life, because this is much more helpful. It also gives me inspiration and confidence that an art business that makes money is possible.

    Such practical support for artists
There are few podcasts where take notes as I listen, and this is one them. Every episode is full of practical strategies for both emerging and established artists. I especially LOVED the episode with Betty Franks where I had to listen twice to write down all the juicy advice and resources. Thank you Alyson to the rich content you provide. A true gift to all artists🙏🏻♥️🎨.

    Practical and inspiring.
Alyson has great guests and asks relevant questions geared toward making your art career successful. The podcast with Michael Gadlin (#93) was so fabulous that I stopped my work in the studio to write a review! Thanks Alyson.

One of the best art podcasts out there
I can’t even remember how I came across Alyson initially but I am SO grateful I did, this podcast is chock full of practical, real world advice from artists and covers anything and everything you need to know, either as a beginner like me or as a seasoned artist who may need some tweaking. I feel I have gained years of insight from a few months of listening during my workouts or doing the dishes and will be able to kick off my art career avoiding many pitfalls. The chatty informal style is very pleasant, and Alyson also structures her questions to get the most helpful advice and make the best use of her time with the artists. She seems to always ask exactly what I want to ask, too! Can’t recommend it enough, thank you Alyson for all you do and for all the lovely artists you’ve brought on.

I had put a buyers shopping on my website but never connected the type of payment and I have wondered why I didn’t get any sells. This podcast was very informational about that. Always have you on my radar through the years. Alana

    Inspirational and practical too!
Let’s face it. Even though painting is an enjoyable process, Being a professional artist is hard work. Often, it’s easy to get discouraged. When I listen to one of Alyson’s podcasts, I get inspired to keep going. I always learn something that motivates me. After listening, I feel energized!

    Love Allyson!
I’ve been receiving her emails and listening to her podcasts via email. Yay! She’s now on Apple podcasts! So fun, practical, and down to earth, Allyson’s perspectives on how to build your business as an artist are invaluable. And yet, at no point does she minimize the personal nature and cultural value of art. I find myself using her ideas, and those of her guests in all areas of my work, not just art. I ‘drop in on’ a lot of podcasts ... make it a point to listen to every one of hers.

    Awesome guests!
I love the guest Ali Cavanaugh! This was very interesting to hear her journey and informative to hear how it can help me in my art journey. Very nice interview! Can’t wait to hear the next one about being an artist and a mother. And I also can’t wait to see Ali’s Patreon class about her technique! Nice job ladies!

    Inspiring and practical
I've been inspired by personal stories of art biz success, and have appreciated practical guidance and tips for my art business. It's clear that there are many diverse paths to a successful art career. Alyson is a great interviewer. She listens well and asks follow-up questions when the content gets too general or vague. I appreciate that the podcasts are well-edited too. They usually run about 40 minutes, the perfect length for long commutes.

    Inspiring
I love to listen this podcast as I paint. Everything she says makes a lot of sense. I like that she is very positive and holistic, looking as art as a whole, that is the way I see it too. Can not wait to tale one of her workshops

    Brass tacks marketing
In a quickly moving online world, the best marketing is still creating relationships. Alyson understands this and this is why I follow her. She knows how to create a connection with your art collector for the long term

    Great advice!
I discovered Alyson’s old podcasts a few years ago and was very happy to see she’s started doing new ones again. I love the helpful advice to artists from someone who’s been in the business a long time. The show is great for tips and motivation! Thank you, please keep them coming!

Im so glad this podcast exists
This podcast is candid and among the most realistic artist advice out there. It’s so helpful to hear real stories of how artists are making a full time living doing something that they love. To be honest, there are some things that could use improvement. The episodes are infrequent, and I would say the host isn’t the most polished interviewer (she sometimes interrupts her guests). I love when interviewers give their guest the room to speak and explain their feelings, so in that regard I think there’s some space to grow. Overall, it’s a must listen if you are like me and would love to be doing your art full time. You’ll get so many ideas and it will open your eyes to all the possibilities in your career.

    Refreshing
This podcast is very refreshing to me. I am new to the art business and she has some very helpful suggestions. I really love that she is here to help everyone! A lot of the subjects and content are so helpful to me.

The podcast artists need to listen to.
Alyson, you are a gift to your fellow artists, with this very worthwhile podcast. I'm saying this as the producer of the Art Dealer Show (www.artdealer.show), where I'm trying to provide the same sense of support to the neighboring community – the people who have make a life of selling art (which includes the artists themselves too). Keep up great work and very enjoyable podcast.

Wonderful helpful information for artists of all levels. We all need to listen to this!

    Fab!
I found this and listened to the first two episodes and REALLY enjoyed it, enough to subscribe. The episodes address all the things I need to address right now. I'll be listening to all the episodes and awaiting more! There's only one thing that I don't love - I can't figure out why an adult professional speaker speaks with vocal fry and upspeak (usually the domain of 20/30-somethings). Ending statements with a questioning tone undermines confidence in a speaker and choking words just sounds unprofessional. I'll still listen to all every episode, though!

    A Lot to Think About
Listening to this podcast made me realize just how much I procrastinate about creating my art. It has reminded me of how much I love to create and that I cannot afford to wait for inspiration. Thank you!
