They often say the necessary things that no one else will say. ALWAYS here for Virginia's takes. Can't wait to read her novel

    Daebak? No longer.
I have to be honest, I tried very very hard to enjoy this show and I did for awhile. They always have entertaining mixes and interesting guests and points of views for the songs and some of the host I admire. But sadly I find some of the host to be disingenuous. I’m sure all podcast and YouTube channels are very well scripted at times, most good shows can do it enough to where you don’t notice anything. Kpopcast feels like I’m at a table reading or that they are simply there to go through bullet points. Who ever their writer is needs to work on the scripts better. And I’m not talking about the skits either. Baby Shark was actually a great episode. The reactions and reviews just don’t feel real but instead feels rehearsed at times, by some host. Although the format is clever and mixing is nice I just wish the same amount of love and care was made by the host when they actually spoke. It’s either very calm spoken to over the top. It was fun but got old very fast.

    Love this podcast format!
As a newer Kpop fan, I really enjoy this format of analyzing Songs. It’s fun to listen to the hosts’ opinions, hear clips of the songs, and also get updates about hot topics in Kpop. I’ve listened to a few episodes so far, and it’s both allowed me to appreciate some of my favorites more and also exposed me to new music as well!

    Hilarious, honest commentary
The review of TWICE’s “heart shaker” had me shook with laughter. Just listening to how done Steph and PLo(I hope I’m spelling right)were so done with this song and concept was hilarious, and I completely co-sign. Most things with twice are too much for me anyway!

    Really smart, unpretentious analysis
This show strikes a wonderful balance between structure and spontaneity. It has enough structure to always keep the discussion and analysis interesting while maintaining the casual air of some old friends kicking back and discussing their favorite tunes over a few brews. The hosts come from a diverse background of DJs, dancers, and social commentators and they bring a lot to the table while breaking down a piece's music, choreo, and where it sits amongst its contemporaries. They're clearly really smart and know their stuff and of course, they're quite likeable! Overall, the show's a really entertaining and informative listen.

    Hmmm
I really like the commentary on the music, choreo, visuals and the artists themselves. There is some really thoughtful insight into the kpop industry too. But you lose me as soon as you start down the rabbit hold of absurd theories: ie. bighit releasing content on the anniversary of kurt cobain’s death as some sort of significance in the plot of their music videos. Please keep the foolishness to a minimum.

I really enjoy the reviews on this podcast, it's helped me to think more critically about Kpop AND appreciate it more. I like the perspectives and expertise that the hosts bring, and the different guest contributors help to mix it up.

    Your review on Taeyang
...is what brought me to write this review. I’ve listened to your review on BTS’ DNA as well, but your review on Taeyang’s new album is what made me a fan of your show. I liked your breakdown of the video. Totally agree with what you said in regards to the video. For the symbolism in Darling, I immediately thought of Eyes,Nose,Lips - which was a beautiful song. Also, I think it should have been Darling followed by Wake Me Up then White Night on the album. (I love your GOT reference, btw.) I’m a new listener and will definitely be listening more to you.

    You are! Great!
This is a great podcast! But! Just to let you guys know, the baby bird in each got7 video represents IGOT7 since our Korean nickname is AHGASE aka baby bird. So, instead of having a woman lead in their MV they have the baby bird, cuz it’s their ahgase

Not had a chance to listen to your pod cast for a while. Heard the one on EXO in the car, liked the new format. Simple and entertaining. 15 min of fun and laughs. Thanks KPOP. Made me want to listen to Power again. Can't wait for BTS review.

    Great overview on KARD
I love to watch K dramas, but I am new to K pop. I was invited to KCON this weekend and one of the performers will be KARD. Kpopcast's episode on KARD not only thoughtfully critiqued "Hola Hola" but gave me a great review of their other songs and performances too. Thanks for helping me learn about KARD! I will be looking forward to their performance with your podcast in mind!

Finally realized why I want to listen to kpop
New to the kpop scene, this show has been a nice side-kick to listen to after watching the kpop releases each week. What I like are the honest reactions from the different hosts who give their varied perspectives and contrasting feedback. The show has additionally been a fun find for discovering new songs in kpop I would not have found otherwise. Give these guys a listen.

    Art Evokes Analysis
I'm really enjoying listening to your reviews of Kpop. Often times it can be hard to find people who are willing to go out on a limb and share their interpretations and/or judgments. Art evokes different feelings in different individuals so I enjoy comparing my responses to yours and seeing where we agree and disagree. I will definitely be subscribing.

    You Never Listen Alone
You guys had me at the intro! With every episode, I ask myself "how the hell did I not see that??" Really enjoy listening to your deep analysis of a genre most people take as superficial and produced. Ya'll have made me consume K-pop with new eyes. As BTS would say, that's pretty "DOPE!"
  • RhodriRhodri
    Whoa.
With so many Kpop podcasts, it's easy to get used to surface-level analysis and accept that as all we can expect. You guys go way deeper, and obviously know Korean and pop-music culture exceptionally well. Also: I ❤️ your pop filters.

    Awesome mixing; commentary in development
A fun kpop podcast centered for the San Francisco Bay Area, though it sounds like the hosts are still finding their groove/voice. The DJ mixing is 🔥🔥🔥, tho!
