    Made my morning less boring
I spent 90 minutes adding alt text to photos in my works media library. The red seat podcast made that time less awful. I love the banter between hosts. Slightly concerning one has not read in years. Perhaps he cannot read?

POL need to talk more baseball
Monster’s of Sox and the Red Seat are great. Pod on Landsdowne, no one cares what cereal you like. I turn these on for the Red Sox news, not the “charming” asides about old video games.

    Red Seat Podcast Goes Negative
Listened to these folks for the past three years as one of my regular touchstones for tracking with the Sox, especially with during the off season. With the team’s downturn over the last year and a half and the failure to extend Xander, the podcast has gone negative and has a nearly bitter vibe. Still some decent info on players.

Pick up the pace man. And the confuse king pauses have to go.

    Tough Listen
One of most negative pods out there. The conversation is alway surface level outrage, with no nuance. The hosts always seem to contradict themselves even within the same segment. The goal of the podcast seems to complain about the Sox, and the Front Office. Even when they are winning they are pessimistic about the Red Sox. There are better ways to spend your time if you actual like the Sox.

    Very boring and slow
These guys know there RedSox stuff but are so boring and it’s so annoying how they pronounce literally every players name wrong. Calling Yelich “Yell Ick” and Mayer “May yer” instead of “My er”

    Honesty is the best policy
Detailed And upfront analysis on the Sox. Whenever I’m wondering what’s up (Right now read: wrong) with the Red Sox, I have this trusty pod to fill me in. Thanks and keep up the work!

    Like talking baseball with friends
Love listening to the shows Over The Monster produces, and have for years.

    Good show, almost great
Enjoy the show, good knowledge of the Sox depth and future. There is often some unpleasant and frustrating dead air when the hosts are trying to answer a question posed by the other as if it’s the first time they’ve heard the question. The long pauses have led me to check if the show actually stopped playing. With a little more prep time, that can get cleaned up and this party can keep on rockin.

    Title? Captain Underpants!
Like a minor superhero, this podcast can always pick up a pail a draw water from a leaking rowboat. Keep the fine work!

    Get rid of Shelly!
This podcast is unlistenable with Shelly. Lose her and will be alright.

    Tough Listen
Trying to listen to the draft recap was the last straw. Neither host has much knowledge of the players taken or the information involved in the process, but that is honestly fine by me. Baseball drafts & player development are notoriously niche and difficult to cover. What is not difficult is declining to pretend you know things you clearly don’t know just to fill the air. The Shelly character *clearly* doesn’t know what she’s talking about and it’s painful listening to her patch together & try to pass off as her own knowledge superficial snippets from draft reviews that any of us can google. If you’re going to do a serious podcast, take it seriously. Nobody needs a show where the content is somebody pretending to have a clue about a subject most listeners as fans know well enough to see through the act. In fact, that’s alienating.

    Best Sox Pod
If you only have time for one Red Sox pod, make it this one. Fun, knowledgeable, and funny.

Insightful pod on Red Sox minor league system
Bob and Shelly are the best, know their stuff cold, must listen for any Red Sox fan!

    Great Content
Great content, everyone is very knowledgeable and brings a unique viewpoint to the table. Very easy to listen to format!

    Good Show, shuffle the lineup.
Decent show, released timely to be relevant , good perspectives. Shelley needs to go. Her basic understanding of professional baseball combined with that awful accent forces me to skip episodes which she appears. Without Shelley the show is a 4.5

    Not even a Sox fan
And I love this pod. I’m especially enjoying the new Red Sox on Deck episodes with Bob and Shelly - they both know really know their stuff. Seriously, give this pod a listen!

    4/14/22 podcast...
Was lead off with an obvious commentary on social/political events. Yes, We’re already aware why a game was postponed- but I tuned in to hear baseball discussion and to get away from such things for a bit. There are plenty of other podcasts to go where these tragic events are left to straight news locations

    Pick up the pace
Good info but these guys lack energy and enthusiasm.
  • thomas from around the diamond
    Good knowledge, too negative
Haven’t heard them say anything good about any of the guys on the team
  • btimlake
Lots of knowledge in an inefficient package
If Matt Collins isn’t in the episode, I skip it. But when he is on, he’s carrying the entire show. This would be outstanding if he had a counterpart who could keep up with his knowledge and presentation. Bryan Joiner used to bring that. But as it is in recent shows, the pattern is: Matt says something worthwhile that could be a great jumping-off point for a discussion, but then whoever else is on repeats the same thing back, either agreeing or disagreeing with no new info and details any potentially interesting discussion (or, as in the case of a recent episode, sighing with mock-emotion and using the word “really” twice a sentence — brutal). I can practically hear Matt shrugging as he moves on to the next topic. I don’t bear any ill will to these folks, whose Sox writing can be good. But being a good writer does not guarantee podding ability. In fact, Matt could bring all the baseball knowledge; just get him a host who can ask decent questions and you’d have a show that’s better by at least 50%.

    Needs work
Any good content is masked by terrible production quality and monotone, mumbling and devoid of energy speakers. Fairly unlistenable

    Don’t Bother
I gave this podcast a listen over the weekend, heard Shelly and Trevor attempt to discuss their favorite podcasts and it was brutal. She umms and rambles for 7 minutes into the show before discussing the players. This morning I listen to the regular guys and I can’t even hear one guy on his mic talking. I understand we are all in lockdown and there is not a lot of content or play to discuss, but the quality of the recording and the lack of energy from the hosts is not worth it.

    Fairly unprofessional
Just listened to hear about the state of the team and am very unimpressed. One of them keeps coughing into the microphone, is there no editing?! No mic cutting? Also, Pedroia gets put on the 60 day DL and they added a pitcher I wanted to hear about and they just said ‘well, nothing to talk about’ but they had a lot to say about Roenicke’s handwriting.
  • baboombaboom
Stop coughing directly into the mic
Perhaps consider using the mute button? Along these lines, id think about editing out the numerous times you stall while we can hear you typing as you try to pull up stats
  • JHBBurnham
Good, but why are three minute intros and outros needed
I love most of the content, but definitely prefer whenever Matt is kicking around. Sometimes things are a little hot-takey, or even Barstool-esque mock outrage. I don’t mind that, but the ABSURD length of the intro and outro is UNBELIEVABLE. Why do we need three minutes of random noise before we get to the podcast?

    Great weekly Sox podcast!
They give a good rundown of the games, player’s stats and hot and cold streaks, moves, minors, injuries, questions Sox fans have, etc. Highly recommended!

    Great Podcast
From a diehard Red Sox fan, this is my favorite Red Sox podcast by far. The hosts know what they are talking about and have very interesting and compelling things to say about the team in their conversations.

Great analysis of Red Sox baseball!

A solid podcast for any Red Sox fan
I would highly recommend this podcast to any fan of the RedSox. It is a nice mix of current games, strategy, individual players, trade rumors, and minor leaguers.
  • Boston Emigrant
Great for Out of Market Sox fans
If you’re outside the Boston media market and you don’t get to see games but follow the box scores, great analysis and review of how the players are looking throughout the games and season. Awesome season to have started listening to this podcast!
  • Njkingsbury
    Good analysis
I like hearing people talk about the Red Sox, so this podcast is great. Could have better intro music though
  • strausburg34

If you’re a die-hard Red Sox fan, you need to give this a listen. Jake, Matt and Bryan all do a great job

    Excellent Red Sox Info
My favorite podcast. Good solid info with a little humor added in. Good guest and good conversation.

    Need louder mics!
Love the show guys but you need louder mics! If I’m listening outside I can barely hear! Keep up the good work!

    Can't go wrong
This is easily the best Sox chatter available right now. None of the pessimism, armchair psychologizing, vodoo science, and casual racism and sexism that seems unavoidable in Boston sports talk.
  • Systmrcvr
    Informative and Witty
I’ve enjoyed getting to hear these Sox fans take time to pour over every last move and offseason speculation the last couple weeks. Appreciate the attention to detail put into the podcast but...the sound quality from the host has got to improve. I’m nearly turning my volume all the way up to even hear him. The guests have been educated and informative to say the least. All in all, a good show and one I’ll keep on subscribing to.
  • tobysmithny
    Pretty good, one listen
Good info but honestly stopped listening halfway through. Matt Collins(guest) - dude, a little more pop and a little less dread! I stopped listening 10 minutes in.

    Quality Content But Not Sound
I love that you guys are talking Red Sox - very informed opinions! Please work on the sound quality though. Some of you come in loud and clear and others are hard to hear.

    Totally unbiased
Entertaining and informative pod with realistic takes on Red Sox players. Jake does a great job managing the rotating guests. Off to a strong start!

    The best Red Sox podcast?
Probably. If you're a fan of the Hottest Takes, this probably isn't for you. But if you like the Red Sox and measured, informed discussion? Well there's probably a podcast for you, too, but if you're Ben Carsley's mom this is definitely your favorite podcast. (But seriously this is great and you should use your ears to listen to it).
