    The “Wellerman” (Sea Shanty)
For some strange reason, whenever I hear Nathan Evans sing the “Wellerman” (Sea Shanty), I find myself reaching for a unpretentious schooner brimming full of Knobel Whiskey 🥃

Mike another great show with interesting topic. Hard to believe what we are hearing is true but it is and they are worse than this. You have great guests and ask very similar questions I would have and you are not afraid to rock the boat. Keep up the good work. Charlie Orlando Fl.

This was like sitting in the backseat of a car with two people up front you have absolutely nothing in common with having a great conversation with each other while you just endure it.

This is a great podcast, have never missed one. If you are new, then you must first listen to the episodes with his mom ( you’ll think she is talking to you). Mike is really good too.

Thank you, really, for this very timely and informative story of her grandfather who survived Pearl Harbor. This was especially helpful for me as my uncle was also a survivor. He was not injured because he was not on the ships. He was Army stationed at Scoffield Barracks on Oahu near the harbor. Like many war survivors he did not talk about it much. Mike I love you and I love your shows. Your content is always solid, entertaining, informative, and relatable. Thanks man for all you do!! Bob Betz, Iowa

    Stayed for Peggy
Came for Mike, stayed for Peggy. All jokes aside, a wonderfully done and informative podcast. Although I have to admit, Coffee with Mom is my favorite.

    Outstanding!!
Just listened to episode 417. The recounting of events from the attack on Pearl Harbor nearly made me cry. The dedication of the men on board the Arizona was amazing. And the Navy’s decision to let that name live on in the active fleet is a great honor. As a veteran myself, I really appreciate all that you do!

Great show! I taught high school industrial arts in Atlanta Ga and even though it was a job, it didn’t feel like it. It was great teaching in a class where a majority of the kids wanted to be there and loved what they were doing. The program changed in the mid 90’s to technology, but fortunately, the “powers that be” decided a reduced shop might still be useful, so we got to keep a small shop on the side. That small shop was still the best part of my program and the kids that got to go through it will always remember those great times. I know I will. Great show with Tim. Keep up the good work.

    Love it!
Just listened to episode 435. Great insights! I have to comment on what Mike quoted from Tim Cook though. He is right about his product needing to be built in China currently because the labor content required but he controls that in the design…He needs to push his design engineers to set with people like me who have be build electronics in the USA for decades and know what it takes from a design standpoint to make it work…DFM/DFA, he shouldn’t get off with making a comment like that easily…push back it can be done! Love the actual guests on this episode get guys making it happen here in the USA!

Great content delivered with wit and humor
I am a longtime Mike Rowe fan going back to “Dirty Jobs.” I don’t listen to every podcast episode but when I do, I may laugh, cry, be inspired and/or learn something that challenges me. This podcast is well worth the time because of the great content and earnest, thoughtful and humorous delivery. Thanks, Mike and Chuck!

Whether you’re a history buff or just love a good yarn, The Way I Heard It is a delightful bouquet of stories that blooms with every listen, reminding us of the beauty in the overlooked corners of life. Bravo Zulu Mike Rowe, for this radiant gift to our ears and souls! P.S. A special shout-out to Chuck, whose delightful banter and sharp insights add a profound layer of charm to the show. Refreshing. Inspirational.
I never know what will be covered. The only thing I know is I will enjoy it. Although I am very educated, Mikes constant drumbeat on the trades is spot on. We need more! Their knowledge and skill is perhaps more important than my education. If technology was to crumble, they would survive and I would be very dependent on them. Thanks.

Tim Allen & the Water Folks
I am waaaaayyyyy behind listening, but really liked the episode with Tim Allen, especially when he talked about the complexity of the water plants. I engineered control systems for water plants for 10 years in a previous life; it was challenging, and fun. Really impressed with Mr Allen’s perspective, on that and all the other topics you covered. Great show!

    Enjoyable and informative
This podcast is enjoyable and informative. I love what Mike is doing to bring back the trades into the workforce and supporting individuals who want to become trades workers. I really appreciate his cause. Getting to hear him speak on Theo Von‘s podcast is initially what brought me to this one, and I just have to shout out to Mike and his team for the great work that they do. This pod is a must listen!

Love the Podcast and the Homemade Ad Jingles
Going back listening to all the episodes in order. While I loved the short format, and hate change, I am enjoying the new format. And I never fast forward the ads you and/or Chuck do. You two aren’t annoying like a lot of ads today are. Keep the jingles!

The Way I Heard It Episode 433
Coffee with mom is always a wonderful episode, and this episode was no different! And the song at the end of the episode was the icing on that delicious cake! The words are fun, but the beautiful harmony just melts my heart! -Tami Blake ♥️

    Love Mike Rowe’s podcast!
I just finished listening to Mike’s interview with David Bahnsen and found it fascinating and inspiring. I was delighted to hear Mike mention A Message to Garcia! My husband, a retired US Army 3-star General, used to make the Lieutenants in his battalion read that essay when he was a Lt. Col. Thankful to Mike for bringing it up in this conversation. So apropos! And also grateful to have this old memory come rushing back when I heard him discuss the essay. (Battalion command was quite a while ago!) I hope David B reads Hubbard’s essay! This episode was a delight to listen, as always!

    Six stars
I gave Mike’s podcast a five because I couldn’t give it a six. He brings a few celebrities, although not many and the ones he has are more than just a pretty face. His guest are profound, insightful, intelligent and always brings about a moment of “wow, I’ve never thought of that”? Or, man…that’s pondering on food for the soul (most of the time there is no pondering, it’s good food for your soul) The episodes with his mother is some of my favorite and every show has humor galore. Is he my favorite? Yes, 100%. Enough said.

Refreshing to hear Common Sense again!
A true American who shares his talents of communication and expressiveness. Also, not scared to discuss the poisons in this country (aka, CRT, Stakeholder mentality, etc… (insert acronym here) ) which we must defeat to move forward as Americans!

    Entertaining, Thought-provoking, and Memorable
Mike and Chuck do a fantastic job when choosing and talking with their guests. I look forward to all their new episodes as the ones I’ve listened to a wonderful combination of entertaining, thought- provoking, and memorable. Also happy to support American companies they’ve highlighted like MKC and GORUCK. Thank you and keep up the great work, guys!

Absolutely fantastic for young men to listen to. And, the music convinced me to put this in. I never leave reviews.

    Slowly Falling Off
I’ll always love Mike Rowe! Just his demeanor voice and good conversation. But here’s another interview where you side step the stupidity happening right now with the trumpsterfire tariffs. Not one mention while talking to a guy that guaranteed lost millions last week but ya really don’t want to bring up the reality of his disaster. Self censoring under the blanket of fake Christiantrumpism.

    Informative and Entertaining
Mike is great! Bright, thoughtful and entertaining. Great discussions with the guests and Chuck. Advertisers that I have or do check out with some that I now have done business.

As always, Mike amazes me in everything he does! His tact, combined with sarcasm, in equal doses, while never seeming to insult, is a true gift!

    Awesome podcast 👌🏻
This is one of the best if not the best podcast I’ve listened to. I enjoy the interview style that the podcast is done in and the people included and I really enjoyed the Tim Allen episode. All together a great podcast that I would recommend for anyone I know.

Wow. Started bingeing these episodes. Typing this review through teary eyes after listening to your beautiful tribute to your music teacher. Thank you for putting it so eloquently. The effect music teachers have on us is profound.

I absolutely love your pod cast. So much garbage in the news and on tv these days, I just can’t stand it. Yet every episode of your pod cast is informative, positive and enlightening. Thank you!

    Always Fun
Mike has a down to earth, easy, interesting way of getting the most out of his guests. He keeps the show fun but he gets the guests to open up about a variety of interesting topics in each podcast. Thanks! Best interview of Joey Jones that I have ever heard. Great Work Mike! The podcast with Gary Sinise should be in the Podcast Hall of Fame. You did a terrific job. I wish everyone in the country could listen to that show.

You keep it real. I retired this year from service and I completely subscribe to your philosophy about the importance of work. Doesn’t matter if your guests are CEO’s , accomplished actors, or tradesmen. It’s always good to hear real people talk about life. Thank you for hours of entertainment and enlightenment.
