Do you guys still have fun with this?
Longtime fan, but y’all are losing the gravity of enthusiasm, and it’s gotten to the point I’m struggling to tune in. Every episode is a bunch of whining about large companies, weirdly deep fascination with ripoff emulation tech, and then some disingenuous, joyless breakdown of a classic game you’re no longer willing to meet on its own terms. Hope you rediscover the spark. This isn’t fun anymore.

    It’s a mystery to everyone
How people that are so incredibly bad at playing video games can still make a decent podcast about video games is beyond all understanding

    Awesome podcast

    Fun Positive Show
Really enjoying the up beat and friendly nature of the show even when bashing games or their friends. In particular I enjoy hearing about what they are playing lately and accessories or devices they are using. Cap that off with informative retrospectives and game recommendations and you have a great podcast. Give it a try!

    Only 216 reviews?!?
Awesome show! I was shocked when I saw this show only had 216 reviews, I assumed you’d be up in the thousands by now. Keep up the good work you guys deserve more recognition than you’re currently getting. Also, farts.

    I’ve learned a lot.
These guys are the sole reason I know what Steel Battalion is. I’m only 36 episodes into the backlog (on Spotify) but in those 36 episodes, I’ve learned quite a deal of the backstory on some of my favorite consoles and why some of the others I held in high regard didn’t do so well. I’m really glad I found these guys.

    Let us cling together!
Justin and Saturn have such a great chemistry. Listening to them is like hanging out with a couple friends just chatting about video games and whatever else they have going on. The show is funny, relatable and very informative in a way that just makes me want to sit down and experience whatever they’re talking about that week. Even if I’m not largely interested in the topic, I’ll still listen because I just somehow want to be part of the conversation. Great guys, great podcast. Keep it up!

Best of the best in Retro Gaming podcasts
This podcast is tied for my favorite podcast with the Retro Game Squad. Justin and Chris have incredible comedic chemistry and I am frequently left howling like a madman as I roam my neighborhood during my frequent constitutionals. My neighbors probably aren’t pleased but I always am when a new episode arrives in my feed.

Helped me rediscover my love of gaming.
This podcast is simply the best retro gaming podcast out there. The hosts, Justin and Saturn, are extremely relatable and hilarious. I credit them with helping keep me sane during long work commutes, and for helping me rediscover my love of games.

    Interesting Topics
Great show with interesting topics. I find the hosts relatable too.

    Just get to it already
This seemed like a promising podcast, but as a new listener having on average >30 minutes of banter before even hitting the episode topic is too much.

    Fantastic retro game podcast !
You guys are awesome and this is the best retro game podcast out there. Saturn is my age and I relate to his recollections and experiences. Justin is great at moderating and creating content for the show. You guys have great chemistry in your discussions and it’s a blast to listen to. Thanks guys.

These guys, these are my kind of guys
I’m finally back into playing video games on a casual level after a bit of a hiatus from the hobby for nearly a decade, and must attribute some of the reintroduction spark to my Retro Warriors down South. Thanks for all of the laughs, endless insight, highly entertaining commentary on all things retro gaming. Also, filling me in on many current news items I've missed with not paying much attention to the Xbox One, PS4, and WiiU generation of consoles, and the gaming industry as a whole. Justin, Saturn, and the whole team involved, you all rock!

    Just fun!
I started listening after downloading a bunch of episodes last summer for a trip. I instantly loved the show because of the nostalgia and the foul language. Justin and Saturn make me laugh every episode. I recently went back to the beginning of the series. Brings back so many great memories and has pointed me in new directions for games.

    Best Retro Gaming Show Period
This is it. This is the best show about classic gaming in this dimension of the infinite multiverse. It’s a light hearted romp through the history of classic video games and recent gaming news. The hosts have a great rapport with each other and the banter is epic. Wait… why are you still reading this??? Subscribe to it now!

    I listen every week!
The best podcast out there celebrating classic gaming. There are few other shows that have the chemistry that Justin and Saturn have with each other.

    Best retro podcast bar none
This is a truly excellent podcast with two great hosts. There is some great chemistry between Justin and Saturn and they cover a wide range of classics (and not so classics). I look forward to firing up the show every Monday to get me through the Monday morning slog. Even if I’m not interested in the topic of the week I’ll always listen to the news and banter and more often than not stick around for the topic I didn’t think I was interested in and still have a good time. That’s the mark of a great show.

    My go-to retro podcast
I really like the two hosts of this podcast. They work well together. I saw a video of them on YouTube and the voices did not match what I had in my head. I thought Saturn would be an older guy with a beard, but Justin is the one who actually has the home brewers beard. I like the topics and that they don’t kiss Nintendo’s butt like some podcasts do. Two thumbs up!

Great show, nominally about old video games
When I first got into the retro game hobby, I went on a podcast tear, consuming as much as I could. Over the years, that list has been whitled down to this, The Dreamcast Junkyard and The Cane and Rinse videogame Podcast. Justin and Saturn's rapport is really great, as is their knowlede on the topic. This is the highlight of my Monday mornings.
  • Swiftyxxx
    Great show!
Two funny dudes talking about old and sometimes new video games. What’s not to love?

    I wanna play!
What started as just wanting to learn tidbits on my old favorite games, I quickly was won over by the charm and humor of Justin and Saturn. Every time I hear Justin cackle, it makes me laugh. And Saturn is an old man like myself. Thank you gentleman for opening my eyes to many retro games, companies, and stories that I would have otherwise never known of. Keep it up!

    Down to earth Retro Fun
Two guys, Gaming News, the Topic, and some solid laughs.
  • Edwebb23
    Not obnoxious or snobbish
So many retro gaming or gaming in general podcasts are so uppity and overly opinionated that they are almost unlistenable. I appreciate that the hosts of this show are not high on their own opinions or spiteful bitter chumps that whiff their own farts from wine glasses.

    Making retro gaming feel new!
On my long list of podcasts, Retro Warriors is my favorite! I’ve been listening for years and the podcast still feels as fresh as ever! Justin and Saturn bring retro gaming to life with reviews, memories, back story, and jokes. Along with Guy, Pablo, and Andrew they all have created something special. Whether listening to old episodes or chatting up on Discord, there is always quality entertainment to be had. ~Metroid Prime

Love it I listen to it every night I really hope they do some on mega man

Enjoyable show when they get to the topic
Top episodes include the Atari story, console wars, the SNES retrospective, Gradius, and Turbo Grafx 16. However, guys save the news and banter for the end of the show, and hit the ground running. Will make for a better show. Also, some episodes go into a ton of detail while others (Sunsoft-I wanted to hear more about NES Batman! How about that soundtrack?!). And I have to say it again, in an hour long episode ostensibly about say, Castlevania Classics Collection, it’s a bit silly for you to finally tackle the topic at around the 45 minute mark. Get to the topic first, then talk about whatever it is you want to!

    Better than my own podcast
So I host a retro gaming podcast. You should listen to it. But you should listen to this one first because it's better. Absolutely love this show!

These guys are hilarious and every conversation is fun as heck.

    😁😁😁
Love the show! I don’t smile much anf usually don’t laugh at anything, but these guys literally have me laughing out loud in my car! These guys are so informative. They have taught me so much, they are the definition of edutainment. Being from Fort Worth myself I enjoy and totally get the few and far references they make to the area. I am quite concerned about the “using the Bible as toilet paper” remark a previous reviewer had commented about this being said on the podcast by the creators, I will have to go back and listen to the context and might return with a one star review!🤮

    Wonderful
Hilarious stuff. I wanted to see if there were any good retro gaming podcast that wasn’t just a bunch of old people who don’t know how to use a mic. This fills that void.

A blast in your ear holes.
I enjoy these men so much that I sent them beer in the mail. If you are into retro gaming and have any sensibility at all, you too should become a fan of Retro Warriors. Cheers to retro games and cheers to this podcast! 🍻

Download, listen, and share! Right now!
Great show, I’m binging from the start and ALMOST caught up. The hosts are hysterical, the format is a little freeform (the titles can sometimes be of suggestions) but it works, they are guys who care about retrogaming because they were there when it was “new” gaming. Ive never listened to the show and not learned something new, either a game or a game factoid. Give it a listen, you’ll like it.

    So long!
There was a point when I could stomach the useless banter that goes back and forth in this podcast. But, there comes a point when you have to say, “No more.” A little tip you guys. Stay away from politics and religion. Your show would be great if it weren’t for that. I’ve enjoyed you over the years, but after your comment of using the Bible as toilet paper, you’ve lost me. And at the start of this episode you almost had me as a patrion subscriber, because of your plug.

Best Podcast for all things Retro Gaming
Hands down the best gaming podcast out there. The hosts have great conversations about all things gaming, new and old. Even though the the subjects of each episode may be retro, it is not simply looking back and reminiscing, they really bring these games to life and inspire you to put in some hours enjoying them yourself.
