    Great!
Love Movie Date---but where are they now? My January has been bleak without them!

    OMG!
OMG! Jem & the Holograms review? More please!

    Went down hill
Maybe I didn't notice it at first. But over time I realized the hosts are terribly PC. They rarely like anything edgy or violent. I guess it is a "Movie Date", but their tastes stopped lining up with mine over time.

Love It! I feel like they're my friends
I reference what I hear in this podcast often when talking about the latest movies with friends. I love to hear them. I feel like they're my friends. It's turned me on to many movies I would have otherwise ignored and the reverse - I've been looking forward to a movie and then had second thoughts based on their opinions. And Kirsten's always keeping it real about characters and actors of color, gender representation, female roles and oppressive/insensitive story lines!

    Fun!
This podcast is one of three I LOVE. I'm always excited to see I have a new one. While I definitely don't always agree with their reviews, I love to hear their opinions on upcoming and older films. I'm happy rafer and Kristen make this podcast. It brightens my day! Btw, I love Kristen's accent!!

Often agree with their reviews. Keep the show going

Only movie reviews I listen to - but not for the movie reviews
I don't watch that many movies and of the movies I do watch I don't necessarily agree with their reviews. BUT I love the insights and good natured banter of the hosts and I LOVE Kirsten's laugh and the ease with which she offers it. She makes me smile every time and my heart go pitter patter.

Great podcast - informative and entertaining
This is my go to podcast when I want to learn something and also be entertained. I like that the host do not always agree with each other and how good their comaraderie is. Keep up the good work.

    Too critic-y
Used to love this podcast but could not stand it anymore. Kristen does not like Mission Impossible and then Man from Uncle and not good dates because of character development for an action film? I guess this podcast is not meant for film goers for this genre.

    Love it.
    Great podcast!

    Love This Show
I love this show mostly because the more you got to know their tastes the more they surprise you. They’re funny and they have great chemistry. And more importantly I’ve come to trust their reviews.

    Love it
Love movie date! Thanks for making me laugh every week while broadening my movie knowledge. You guys are the best.

    Best of the lot
I have listened to them all, over the years. This is the best of the lot!

Sharp and they don't waste your time
Move date is great. Efficient and entertaining without wasting time trying to get yuks out of the audience. Most podcasts involve self-important goofs blathering about their breakfast for ten minutes before proceeding with mediocre content. Not so with Rafer and Kristen. Keep it up, guys.

    One of my favorite podcasts
I really, really like this podcast. While I might not agree with some of their comments, I find the hosts to be very entertaining. Love Kristen’s laugh. Interesting thing: with four kids, and tons of stuff to do around the house, I rarely go to the movies. Most of the movies they review I will not see until they are on Netflix or TV.

    F*bomb....Really!?
I used to love this show. It was part of my weekly routine download of podcasts. Until today, at just past the two min mark into the broadcast, there it is..."F*cking" and then a description of penguin rape. I was a Sailor and a Marine, and I can swear like both, but just don't need it used in the opening description of a kids movie. I'm am done!

Refreshing Take on Movies of Today
I absolutely LOVE this podcast. It is one of my four must haves podcasts on both my computer, laptop, and iPhone. It looks at movies now and give an honest opinion of whether the movie is good, okay or just plain awful. Usually Rafer and Kristen are pretty much on point about the movie being discussed. It nice that they don’t b.s. which I find that some movie critics will do just for the sake of the popularity. Its just good critiquing on today’s movies from two different perspectives.

    Love this podcast!
I love this podcast! I think the two hosts give a great, well rounded, entertaining review of new movies and old favorites. They are smart, educated, and even if they didn't like a film, they give you a strong understanding of why so you can decide if their opinion will hold true for you.
  • coppercod
    Kristen hates action films
I don't think I've heard Kristen like a single action film on this podcast EVER.

Not nearly as funny as they think they are
Not only are the co-hosts not funny, sometimes they are annoying and presumptuous. I think they mean well, but they come across as know-it-alls who are actually know-not-muches. And the way they mispronounce names? Borders on offensive. It seems very fly-by-the-seat-of-their-pants. I listen, but rather grudgingly, to hear others' perspectives on recent releases.

    Often Surprising, Always Enlightening
Kristen and Rafer have come a long way since the podcast started, incorporating new music and trivia questions, to keep the show lively. They are witty and fun; often I have no idea whether they liked a film until they reveal it on the show. It seems like they have hit on the right formula now and reviewing three films a week gives enough balance to the smaller releases and enough weight to the big studio ones. Give it a try. Maybe you can even solve some of those really tricky trivia questions!

    Fun
The Thanksgiving podcast was fantastic. If they were all as great, I'd give 5 stars.
  • oxigeno
    Inconsistent
Inconsistent on their critique method, can be heard if one listens to their Dark Knight Rises review compared to their Hunger Games review.
  • Paperdoll22
Don't always agree but always enjoy
They don't always have the same taste in movies that I do but they are always funny and charming. They also make some great points. I love it.

    Fun back and forth banter
These two have fun bantering back and forth about the movies. It's like listening to your friends in the back seat of your car as you drive home from a double date at the movies. This is not heavy Pauline Kael-level criticism. Go read her books for that. It's lighter, more fun. Should you use Movie Date to decide whether or not to go see something? Yes and no. If they intrigue you about some movie, go. If they both dislike it, chances are it's a pass. Either way, it's a fun journey. And I like that they rate movies as "good date," "bad date," "great date," etc. rather than four stars or something. One note about iTunes: try putting "movie reviews" in your description above. Your podcast does not come up when I try that, or if it does, it's so low below all the other podcasts on this topic that no one will ever find you. I went looking for you, since I already subscribe. Keep up the fun work, guys!

    Trivia
I love the new addition of the trivia questions. They are tough, but always fun!

    Endearing
I can't believe I went back and listened to all 50some episodes. Perfect for me while running, feels like no time has passed.
  • filmfan6
    The worst
Two uninformed people, who do not even do rudimentary research, make shallow comments about current movies. Yawn. I subscribed for a while, as I no longer get to the movies much, but their constant errors (they are even often wrong about what actors are in what films -- in the age of IMDB, wouldn't that be easy enough to check before recording a podcast?) wore me down. Do yourself a favor, and skip it.

I'd love to see a movie with you guys!
Keep the fun reviews coming, they make my morning commute a lot more enjoyable.

    MOVIE DATE!
Rafer & Kristen have struck a great balance of cinematic expertise and enthusiam. Unpretentious, lively, and sincere. Highly recommended.

I look forward to each new episode!
I love listening to this podcast. As someone who loves movies, but doesn't make it to the theater very often, these 2 give great insight into what each film is actually like. No propaganda, just straight-forward critiques (with pop culture references thrown in for good measure). I feel like their banter is exactly how my friends talk about movies, and I love it!
  • Jen-RT
    I love Movie Date!
Kristen and Rafer have a great on-air chemistry. They are both incredibly knowledgeable about films and pop culture, and it is obvious that they love movies. They don't hide their feelings or their disagreements -- in fact, some of the most exciting and fun Movie Dates are when they strongly disagree. I always look forward to listening to Movie Date.
  • Masoncation
    I love this podcast.
I always look forward to listening to the newest episode of Movie Date during my drive to school or while delivering pizzas at work. Kristen and Rafer play off each other perfectly and I love hearing their take on film related issues. Definitely worth giving a listen!

    low audio
Like the podcast but the audio seems low. It's much lower than other podcasts I listen too and I have to jack up the volume to hear it. The intro with music is even louder then the 2 hosts.

    Fun, fearless, film
This is a fun, light podcast that's a whole sockdrawer full of win. They delight in examining movies and make listening to reviews about terrible releases fun. Great chemistry, like Dr. Strangelove meets Gir from Invader Zim. Even people who hate Justin Bieber love them.
  • Paintsheets
    Love them!
This is one of my favorite podcasts. They are such a good pair and really have a different twist on reviews. I especially enjoy the way they intersperse personal aspects of their lives having to do with movies. It is definitely not a run-of-the-mill movie review. Listen to the 3/25/11 homage to Elizabeth Taylor and you will be hooked.
  • SioneTuitaBMahe
    Snobby and boring.
If you want to fall asleep or listen to two people think their better then anything that's not nominated for an Oscar listen to them. PASS THEM UP !

Not As Good As They Think
Movie Date isn't bad, they're just not as good as they think. On top of that, they break the same rule as most movie podcasts ... THEY GIVE AWAY SPOILERS!!!
