    What happened to this podcast??
I loves this podcast. Does anyone know what happened to it?
  • wilfulgreen
    No no no
Hold it …… Mashing up the before & the after to create the ‘now’ for a person Things that happened after a person dies can’t be included in their death So limiting towards creative people Ugh Elitist guests

    Disappointed in Ads
I absolutely LOVE this podcast, easily 5 stars- That said, I’m mortified that a psychology focused podcast is allowing frequent weight loss ads. We get enough negative messaging from TV & social media, harping on weight insecurities. I don’t need ads insinuating that I should be losing weight on my favorite psychology podcast. SO COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED in this marketing team... such a poor choice.

    Love it!
Love the breakdown of famous people from recent and past. It is interesting to understand more why they are who they are and what shaped and influenced them.

Little more attention to detail please
Just listened to Henry VIII pod; the timeline given for the death of Henry VII the short ascension of Arthur then Henry VII managing things for Henry VIII makes absolutely no sense, and distracts from anything else being said (note: the "1957" thing I chalk up to a slip of the tongue; strange it wouldnt be caught before upload though)

    Amazing show!!!!
This podcast is really thorough. Please do one on Michael Jordan!!!!! It would be a nice follow up to the documentary’The Last Dance’. He’s also a really important figure in black history (it’s February); and lastly, he’s just an utterly fascinating person!

    One star for poor research
If you're going to retro-analyze historical figures, you need to know the history. Don't make two major misstatements about your subject in the first 10 minutes of your podcast. Disgusting.

Interesting subjects. The narrator is annoyingly inarticulate.

    Adolph Hitler
It was inappropriate and inaccurate to compare Trump to Hitler. Trump is helping our people and our economy through fair trade. It is not a Hitler style nationalism to reach trade agreements which help our people and replace trade agreements that hurt our people. Now these fair trades help all countries involved. What Hitler did was to not only hurt people in his country but people’s of the world. Trump has done more for Blacks and minors than any other president. His economic policies help all people which Hitler choose winners and losers in his economic policies. It is the Democrats who are now choosing winners and losers. If your aren’t the right kind of Democrat than you voice is silenced through intimidation and shame. The American people are waking up to the violence and lack of freedom from Democrats. The #walkaway campaign from the Democratic Party is growing. Too many lies and fabricated stories come from the Democrats.

    Illuminating
It seems silly now that I’m writing this out, but it is incredible to me how much I am learning about people that I had a specific idea of in my head based on a single period of time in their lives. Personalities and characters don’t exist in a vacuum and so looking at each person’s life from childhood to death has been so illuminating and interesting.

    Love love love + rant
I’ve loved this podcast since the first episode! Please keep making episodes. Looking forward! Hitler’s idea of taking power was “to discredit traditional sources of factuality in favor of a myth of a supposedly innocent nation and its supposedly faultless leader, and to undermine the rule of law by willful violent actions carried out...” Although Trump and Hitler are dissimilar in many ways, the myth of faultlessness that both “leaders” pushed forward seem to be eerily similar. It a bit naive to say his actions today are not having a severe, detrimental impact on many American lives today. To comment on anything relevant is to be “political?” It is the reality we live in today. Of course we should talk about it. Life is political. To not be is to be willfully ignorant and complacent. He is, thankfully, NOT a fascist king, so these conversations CAN happen. Let them. Too many more insightful podcasts — keep em’ coming!

    In depth
Great job! Can you do a future episode on people who put their fingers in their ears to facts they don’t like, and the phenomenon of not learning from history and possibly repeating past mistakes?
  • elliesaxton
Was good until they got political
The hosts attempt to compare President Trump to a man who is responsible for the genocide of 6 million Jewish people. This viewpoint deliberately attempts to equate a supporter of Trump to that of a Nazi dictator. “Trump has a personality of a Nazi dictator; therefore, if you support Trump you support Nazi dictators”. Please do better. Stick to the history and don’t make this podcast partisan.

    Highly Political
While I have found several of the episodes to be well done and educational, it was a step too far to stray into a political diatribe and falsely call out similarities between Hitler and President Trump. I have therefore unsubscribed.
  • starlessbibleblack
I look forward to it every week
This is one of my favorite podcasts, and new episodes excite me enough to cook and clean while listening!! I so appreciate recontextualizing historical figures. My only complaint is that some of the topics are already way overdone. Nobody needs to hear any more theories on Hitler. Even the MLK and Van Gogh episodes edged too far for me. Personology is at its best when it delves into Teddy Roosevelt’s bipolar, Frida Kahlo’s childhood, how Houdini’s fitness helped him escaped. These were new ideas, and I loved them.
  • MJBrownTING
    Too far
Trump is Hitler , really? Come on

    Garbage Opinionation
I enjoyed many episodes; then the guy on the Hitler podcast had to spew his opinion and compare our great president to Hitler. I will be unsubscribe and black lost your podcast all over social media. Its too bad.

    Good Except for the End
I am very fascinated by this podcast! I truly have enjoyed this podcast thus far. However as someone who is politically libertarian to hear once again the stretch that Trump and Hitler are similar and that people who follow him are Nazis was a bit much. I don’t really agree with Trump. I didn’t vote for him, but seriously? Did we have to go there? It wasn’t necessary for the podcast at all.

    Great show!
The Dr Saltz and her guests are informative and very interesting! I enjoy the take on these people’s personalities. The latest sis quite on point with today’s political climate.

    Pretty disappointing.
I was thoroughly enjoying the podcast until the Hitler episode. Pretty disappointed. 1 star. Unsubscribed.

Was great until you got all Political today
Thanks for spreading misinformation at the end of a great episode today! Talk about stirring the pot

    Bait and switch
These two used the Hitler argument to pitch their Trump Hate Speech Nothing new here
  • jlw1970
    Political projections are not helpful
I enjoy the shows and find the information stimulating. The episode about Hitler was the same until the hosts began comparing Hitler to President Trump. This type of projection is unnecessary and divisive. I was extremely disappointed! Listen with caution.

    Cynthia Lennon
Cynthia Lennon was also an artist. She and John met at Art College in Liverpool. Perhaps she did not share John’s “artistic temperament,” but she was an artist in her own right.

Need a 3rd episode for a better judgement
I get that this is supposed to be delving into the psyche of each subject. The episode on Vincent was well done and felt professional. Houdini missed the mark because it felt too scripted and too sweeping in describing his motivations. I agree with others that it is light in nature. Let’s see what episode 3 and 4 bring. Like any “wiki” take it all with a grain of salt. Still interesting.

    First episode
This was excellent and interesting about theo van gogh’s brother
  • Lips78
    “Fascinating! I love it”
I felt like I really did get inside the mind of Van Gogh! It was so interesting to hear what made him mentally ill and that his painting was directly connected to that. Having a psychiatrist host makes this podcast unique. I can’t wait to listen more.

    Van Gogh podcast.
Van Gogh: what a complicated and difficult life. Dr. Saltz was excellent in bringing it all together for us as she shed light on the artistic genius.
