Michael Bennett is a unicorn. The NFL defensive lineman for the Dallas Cowboys, is both a Super Bowl Champion and self-described feminist. Pele Bennett is no slacker either: she’s a food advocate and a skilled Polynesian dancer. Together, the Bennetts have taken on everything from racial justice work to authoring a children’s book to parenting three daughters. (Did we mention they’re high-school sweethearts?) In Mouthpeace, the Bennetts invite listeners and guests into their professional and private lives to take on topics provocative and personal: from sitting out the national anthem to keeping their sex life fresh. First Time Listener

I was sitting in my office searching for a new podcast to listen to and I came across Mouthpeace. I am all for a great podcast and I saw that this was buy a married couple. So me being a newly wed I was like okay let me listen and when I say this touched my heart and spirit it definitely did especially when it came to blended families! Great start of the show! I loved the comparison of the relationship between Michael and Pele to an oxtail. I disagree that the Jamaican oxtail is the best. Michael you need to go to Rome and taste the “Coda alla Vaccinara”, the Roman style Oxtail , after that your relationship with Pele will go to another different level... Stefano

Last year I read Michael’s book “Things That Make White People Uncomfortable” - I had no idea who he was or that he played in the NFL (not a football person, sorry!), but the book was so wonderful and endearing that when I heard an ad for this new show on Pod Save the People, I knew I had to give it a listen. Michael and Pele are so cute and genuine on this show, and the stories they tell and discussions they have are real and raw. I really enjoyed listening to this - it’s a wonderful escape from my daily news podcasts and the chaos of everyday life. Reminded me of all the things I am grateful for, and all the ways I can show that gratitude in my relationships. Definitely recommend!
