I loved this podcast as a parent that had Raffi CDs in the car and at home through out my child's childhood.

Stories about gentle, thoughtful people trying to teach all of us to be the same. There is a kindness here.

It was nice to stumble upon this story and all of its nostalgia. I loved Raffi when I was little and enjoyed this reflection on him and his story. I even named my childhood dog Raffi.

I started with season two, first thing I thought of when I really started listening was that Raffi is the modern day Mr. Rogers, lol then I noticed Fred Rogers is the topic of season one! Both refuse commercialization, child centered ❤️ both excellent seasons in their own way, recommended lesson❣️

Thank you so much for the podcast Finding Raffi. I am really enjoying learning all about Raffi especially since I have been a fan of his music since the very beginning of his career of singing children songs. I have been a Nanny for 40 years and teaching the children I have cared for in the past, as well as now, the songs of Raffi has always been my top priority. I love the fact that his high standards of not letting advertisers exploit children is another reason why I love him and his music so much.

This, thoughtful, nostalgic, professional, and well researched podcast was a balm to my Pandemic. If Season 3 isn’t about Bob Ross I don’t know what I’ll do.

This podcast had me visiting a head space I hadn’t been in for 20 years+. Never did I think I’d be so connected to something that I just knew from watching kids in the 80s/90s He’s such a beautiful man and to learn even more about him was delightful

I am really enjoying the show itself. The interviews and use of Raffi’s music throughout is lovely, but there seems to be consistent problems with editing. The conversation has jumped noticeably without a transition multiple times, making me rewind to see if I missed something, or pressed a skip button only to hear the same jump again. Most recently there was almost 10 empty minutes at the end of the episode making it unclear if the episode was meant to end or if they left a whole section out only for it to start and stop again in the last several minutes. Between the editing problems and frequent commercials I have a hard time enjoying or recommending the show even though I find the show itself interesting and enjoyable. I hope the makers go back and fix the editing errors, so I can recommend this to friends and family.

Really fun to ebb and flow between the different central people to the story. I’m genuinely curious about all the topics and he keeps me interested. I find myself rewinding if I miss something !

I didn’t realize I know so many Raffi songs! Lots of nostalgia listening to this, but it’s firmly grounded in the present day with its perspective.

Haven’t thought about Raffi since I was a kid, and it’s a joy to rediscover him as an adult through this podcast. Highly recommended!

The first few minutes of episode one ruined the credibility of the podcast for me. You would reach more people if you left politics out of it.

Carvell crafts a masterful podcast that reveals beautiful and unknown stories about Mr. Fred Rogers while also sharing deep truths & insights about all of us. The guests he interacts with in each episode are as thoughtful as the questions Carvell asks them. They tell a well rounded story of a man and his impact on many of us. He also investigates what it means to embody Fred’s teaching and discusses our responsibility when it comes to picking up where Fred left us. I can’t recommend this podcast enough.

In some ways, I regret that I didn’t find this series until now, in other ways, maybe it is the perfect time. I was so moved, inspired to contemplate my own emotional life, etc, appreciative of Carvell Wallace and his guests’ reflections on Mr Rogers, life, empathy, presence, vulnerability, love, being our best selves and so much more. A very well done and thoughtful show. Carvell is a talented and smart interviewer who demonstrates a genuine care and interest in whomever he is talking to and about. He really nails the key questions and issues that arise when considering Fred Rogers and the radical love that Fred lived and communicated. And he is present just enough to voice our questions and thoughts yet not so much that he and his experiences are the focus of the discussion. Carvell is certainly not a typical talking head. The production and editing are also beautifully done making this a joy to listen to.

I love this show. Every episode brings a tear to my eye and reminds me about the goodness in the world.

Before I started listening I read one of the reviews that criticized the host for being racist, taking a statement out of context about how Mr Rogers was important in a way that transcends race. As I listened to one episode after another, I felt sad for the reviewer that missed the point and wished they could hear it with the heart touching beauty I did. It’s not that I think my way is better, it’s just that I got nothing but joy from this and I wish that same joy for others rather than the past hurt that reviewer experienced that this podcast actually talks about if one can bear to listen with an open heart and sit with their own historic pain. I enjoyed the segment where they were talking about the author that asked what a black man thought of Mr Rogers and I have to say I’m guilty of wondering that and I know that’s clumsy and awkward and probably sigh-inducing at best for Mr Wallace, but I also think it can come from a place of actually realizing that my lower middle class white experience wasn’t universal and maybe everybody didn’t experience positive feelings from the things I did and feeling genuinely curious rather than just making assumptions. I have heard Mr Rogers discussed many times because he’s a hero and I devour all media about him but hearing this host and the voices he chose to discuss was wonderful. Different topics were approached in ways I had never considered and I feel enriched both in general and in my overall consideration of the impact of Fred Rogers. I love W. Kamau Bell, and I didn’t realize how much I needed and how special it would be to hear him talk about ugly snot crying if he got to meet Mr Rogers and loving that someone I’d respected as a talented rockstar in his own right would dissolve into the same little emotional fangirl/fanboy awe puddle as me. Just one example of too many great moments. Listening to this podcast was kind of like what they said about what Mr Rogers gave to the kids - I felt like a participant in the conversation rather than just the audience. I wrote down several thoughts shared by Mr Wallace and various guests as things I want on sticky notes to see and remind me to Be the Fred Rogers you want to see in the world! Definitely worth the time! Thanks to all who gifted their voices for new perspectives and getting to feel a oneness in appreciation for a man who united rather than divided!

When I was a child, Mr. Rogers saved my life. When I was an adult, he saved my life again. And again and again. Thank you for sharing the wisdom of his vocation.

This podcast was so carefully done and goes above and beyond what I expected. The connections that Carvell and his team made with the current day, to the adults who were Neighborhood listeners as kids and to society as a whole made it so meaningful. Most definitely one of the best podcasts I’ve ever listened to. Thank you!

If you have any interest in Mr Rogers, you should check out this podcast. It brings me a lot of joy, it makes me think, and it is done so well...I highly recommend it. Carvell Wallace and his guests have some wonderful discussions. I will listen to this podcast in its entirety over and over. 10 out of 10!

I feel like many reviewers were looking to find Mr. Rogers in his show. But what Carvell does is looks for who Mr. Rogers/Fred was, how he touched the lives of others, and how those others found Fred in themselves. It was introspective on Carvell’s part, as by the end he’s looking to find Fred in himself. But he also invites us to find Fred in ourselves. The journey is beautiful. If you don’t understand the other perspectives, that’s okay. Think about how it relates to you. How can you find Fred in yourself? How can you bring more Fred to our world? I’m looking to myself for these answers each day from here forward. Thanks Mr. Rogers, and thanks Carvell!

Politics in the first 20 seconds. Purely a reinterpretation of his non political career for the express purpose of forwarding a progressive agenda. Complaining about people taking advantage of the nostalgia moment while doing so at the same time.

This was a great podcast! I really appreciated thinking about so many of the lessons Mr. Rogers taught us as children and how we need to continue them into our adult world. What does it mean to be a good neighbor? Are you a helper? Thank you for putting this together and bringing thought provoking ideas forward. Life changing.

What a gift you’ve given us, Carvell. Pandemic/Election/Political Upheavals — it’s gotten most of us afraid, angry, and too inwardly focused to remember to see the light. I appreciate your vulnerability, honesty, deep questioning, and example. I learned from you as you reminded me to learn from him, so thank you. (I was born in 1964, so Mr. Rogers and I have been friends for most of my life. I was prime audience when they started. My brother was born 6 years later, and I loved that I could continue watching even though I was “too old” for the program.)

Was expecting a biographical mini series about the life of Fred Rogers. The podcast delivers that up to a point, but too often feels like a maudlin, saccharine obituary.

This podcast is so timely and important right now. I have listened to it and taken notes and listened to it again...It’s just that good and thought provoking. This isn’t about politics, religion or race. It’s about humanity and we should all strive to be better humans every day.

Mr. Rogers is one of my favorite humans to walk the earth. I was excited to see this podcast as a suggestion. While the concept is great, the opinions were not.

I didn’t grow up watching his show. My siblings and I were always outside. Listening to this podcast has made me feel that I truly missed out. I found this podcast when I was in a dark place and feeling like I was losing in the parenting department. Listening to this podcast inspired me to open my eyes ears and heart to my children better. I just absolutely love this podcast and am so blessed to have stumbled upon it!

I was totally on board through the intro. ALL of it. I really feel this podcast is important, and important to me. When you use the platform to spew hate towards anyone, even our President, then this is a no go for me. You are using this for something in opposition to what I can here for. This is unfortunate as I really feel it was a great premise, needed, and could have helped so many people. I hope you might consider another podcast for these views, or that an editing team would have reviewed this better before upload and if this was truly your intention. Thanks and best wishes.

A great podcast series for everyone, and helpful to me as I navigate working with young children with special needs. Mr Rogers, all those on his show, and the host and contributors of this pod are definitely helpers. Thank you for your wisdom.

I was really looking forward to hearing this podcast but so many reviews said the narrator interjected with comments like, “Mr Rogers was too good to be white...” Wow! Really? If that isn’t a racist comment then I don’t know what is. I won’t support anything like that! Love is what Jesus was about and love is what I remember Mr Rogers being about. Disappointing!

Of course this takes me back to my youth, but learning more about Mr Rogers really gave me a new appreciation for that show as well as the man himself. I came to the podcast after listening to our local high school's drama department radio show that was centered around Mr Roger's Neighborhood, the music, the lessons for our hearts. What a beautiful legacy to take up and carry on.

The parts about Fred Rogers were interesting. Disappointing podcast. Sad to hear such a far left liberal spin put on this legendary man. This podcast turns him into a mere mascot for the left agenda. Fred Rogers exuded the love of Christ and what everyone holds so dear about him is the very fruit of his relationship with Jesus. To dissect that out and keep it separated from his story is just a shame. I hope one day those that are desperately searching will reach for the fuel Fred was filled with and not some feel good hype pumped out by the movement of the day.
