  • An untaken nickname!!
    Great show, small gripe
I enjoy Reset’s content about the Chicagoland area. It gives good context on specific issues in a format similar to NYT’s The Daily gives on worldwide issues. My only complaint is a technical one, which is that the maximum volume of the episodes is lower than most of the other podcasts I listen to, including some from WBEZ. There are times when I am unable to listen to it because the ambient noise level around me is too high, but other podcast with higher max volume are completely understandable. If this level can be adjusted then the podcast would be near perfect in my eyes.
  • AnotherJoe1
    Divisive
This podcast promotes views of “inequities” in Chicago and that correcting these alleged “systemic” problems requires further favoritism and discrimination based on color and other identity characteristics like sexual orientation. What isn’t understood is the focus on race and favoritism just hurts the individuals struggling in this city and is not sustainable. Please read the Constitution and recent court decisions and stop the race rhetoric. It’s harmful and unproductive.

    Sasha is AWESOME
Hearing Sasha hang up on Richard Pearson of the Illinois Division of the NRA was perfect. Natalie Moore interviews and segments are my favorites.

Great show and host—I especially enjoy the Friday news recaps!

    A Great Hyper-Local Show
I really appreciate Reset and the way it digs into issues and events affecting Chicago and people in the surrounding areas. Sasha-Ann Simons, the host, is very thoughtful in her questions and conversation moderation. She also brings in an interesting outsider’s perspective of someone who’s getting to know the city and hasn’t lived here for forever. I especially enjoy the Friday news round ups and that sort of rapid-fire “here’s what you need to know” format. I look forward to each afternoon because it means another episode of Reset.
  • Long Time Pod
    Unlistenable
Bring back Fresh Air. Two hours of this show is miserable. It’s supposed to be a hyper-local show, but the host doesn’t know Chicago. She does not Dona good job of bringing out the best discussions with the guests. She doesn’t ask good follow up questions.

    A great Chicago podcast
The re-imagine Chicago series has been so good these last few weeks! Everyone livingin the city should check it out. Through that series and the regular daily episodes I’ve learned so much about what’s going on in the city, what has got us to where we are, and what we could do differently going forward.

    Sasha-Ann Simons is awesome
I listen to Reset every chance I get. Big fan since it started a couple years ago. Your new host Sasha-Ann Simons keeps the conversation moving in a thoughtful, engaging way. I think you guys have found a hidden gem!
  • Katgeary
    Chicagoans
Love reset and the topics however not a fan of Sasha she just doesn’t push back in questioning the way Justin and Jen would. In-depth topics just come off as fluff pieces because she doesn’t steer the conversation ever it’s always the interviewee.
  • kingkingking24
    Annoying clicking
I enjoy listening but you need to edit out your mouse clicking that can be heard through out the show. It’s annoying and distracting to be listening to a guest speaker and hear the host clicking around on their computer.

Sasha-Ann Simons hits the ground running
Reset is my go-to when I want to take Chicago with me, whether I’m at home in the city or on my frequent travels for work out of state. I know I’m getting too-notch information and well-sourced subject-matter guests who surprise and delight. Sasha seems as if she’s been here the whole time. So while we’ll miss the excellence of Justin Kaufmann and Jen White (now at 1a), Sasha keeps giving us a necessary taste of Chicago. Reset feels and sounds like home.

    Reset is an amazing show
I moved to Chicago barely knowing a soul and hadn’t driven a car in a long time after living in nyc- finding WBEZ was like making a group of intelligent, inquisitive friends who know exactly what you’re curious about and have the answers to your questions. 9 years later, their familiar voices have become like family when I hear them on my drive to and from work. Reset is my new favorite show where I learn so much about important local and National issues as well. I’m going to turn it on now!!
  • Giraffe624

    A Must Listen for Chicagoans
Love the conversations and in-depth dive into topics that are truly relevant for Chicagoans. It always gives insights on the top things going on locally and when a national topic is taken, it really gives the right spin on how it’s relevant to us in Chicago.

  • jh222222-6666
    I miss jen
the new version just isn’t as politically incisive as it used to be
  • chris.ridgeway
Jen White has upped WBEZ quality
Jen White has slowly slid into a prominent spot at WBEZ over the last two years, and it’s a huge improvement for Chicago's NPR station. On air she is competent and smooth, personal and asks perfect questions. I started hearing her on Making Obama and then 16 Shots and so glad local NPR was able to land her permanently. There were moments in the past where WBEZ local hosts had me wince in the car—the level was so obviously not on par with national level coverage. Now it's changed: Jen White could be hosting All Things Considered. The professionalism and quality is where we should be for global city! Thanks WBEZ.
  • CiciN334
    Love it
A mix of arts, politics, public health, architecture, current events, and important issues that help me understand Chicago (and the country and world) on a deeper level. I’ve been listening for a couple months and it’s my favorite new podcast. Jenn White is an amazing host and interviewer.
  • chicagocoffeechange
    Glad for the new format
Finally seems like one show per episode with the new host. Must listen for Chicagoans.
  • CrabbyFry
    Good local Chicago podcast, but...
I would prefer to have all segments of a particular day be in a single show format.
