    I Want to Like This...
I've been a fan of Jake Young for years, and I really want to love everything he does, but this podcast is just...really hard to like. Jake is fantastic and entertaining as always, but Mike Lawrence is just angry and rude in a way that makes me cringe. I could tell there were even Jake was uncomfortable with what Mike was doing. I think the final straw was the X-Men episode where Mike was defending using "gay" as a negative adjective WHILE A GAY MAN WAS THERE AND ACTIVELY OBJECTING. If you like it, good for you. I just prefer Wizard and the Bruiser. This is just my opinion, though. I'm still a hardcore Young-blood.

    Obviously amazing
Haven't laughed this hard in a long time

Go listen to wizard and the bruiser.
This was an alright enough podcast but it had a bit more angry nerd bent that kinda brought it down. I highly suggest going to wizard and the bruiser. It is basically like this show but more positive and informative.

It's ending as I discovered it...
Just discovered the podcast 2 days ago. The final episode dropped today. Happy and sad all at once. At least there are a ton of old episodes to binge on. Thank you for that.

Mike & Jake are the best
Mike has been one of my favorite comedians for years which is how I found this show. Jake is the perfect positive ray of nerdy sunshine to balance Mike's accurate, informed but mostly negative critiques of the things he loves. Marcus as the mostly quiet but very wise super producer steps in at just the right times to add information and differing opinions.

    Awesome podcast
These 3 guys are funny and great to listen to. Even on topics that I would never think that I would enjoy they bring such enthusiasm and love to it that I can't help but want to find out more.

    Mike Lawrence is really funny
Heard him on Ari Shaffir's Rasslin' podcast (which I just listened to for the 2nd time. A true honor), and the dude is really funny. And he even knew how to pronounce the name of the director of Birdman. #swag

    The best geek culture podcast...ever!
I got turned onto Mike Lawrence when he was recently a guest on Ari Shaffir's Skeptic Tank (another awesome podcast-check it out). Mike was explaining to Ari why pro wrestling is so great and I had a great time listening. So I thought I'd give Nerd of Mouth a shot and I'm addicted...I can't stop downloading episodes! If your into geeky stuff, you came to the right place. Good job fellas.

    Nerd Comics
Actual nerd comics! Or comic nerds. Whatever. It's funny and like hanging out with friends I don't have.

    Consistently Funny
Out of all the podcasts I listen to, this one might have the best length:laughs-out-loud ratio.
  • onmyown1039
I listened to the first couple of episodes
And I really liked it! But them I heard from a friend it was bad now so I stopped listening. But I'm pretty sure it's really really not funny anymore. I wish I could make up my own opinions but oh well!

    I fully recomend
After discovering Mike Lawrence on @midnight, I quickly fell in love with this podcast that merged 2 of my great loves in life, comic books and comedy. While my taste can differ from these guys, I am always intrigued to hear them tell their opinions.

    Best Podcast Out There
I came across this podcast last week while browsing on iTunes. I loved it right away and have been listening to all the episodes since. Definitely the best podcast I have ever listened to. Even if you have no knowledge of subject matter, the conversations will keep you laughing. Also makes me feel less ashamed to be a wrestling fan.

    Great Podcast
This was the first podcast I ever really got hooked on, and it is still one of my favorites (along with fellow Cave Comedy Radio podcast Retro Showdown). Highly recommended for all of the nerds out there.

    Best Podcast on iTunes
I look forward to this podcast each week! Mike and Jake are hilarious together. I wish every episode was at least a half hour, but I'm thankful for each episode they do. Keep up the great work!

I love the subjects & the hilarious banter, Mike is the KING, ya hear me the KING. Mike hates everything but he backs it up. Screw Pacific Rim!!!

    All Hail Nerdcore
Nerd of Mouth is just another example of the great network of Cave Comedy Radio. Just because your a nerd does not mean you can't laugh that the culture. Be warned if you not in to the world of comics, video games ect. you might not get the jokes. If you laugh with out goggling your a nerd.

    Best of the Internet
I heard about this podcast from Keith and the Girl. I wasn't into comics as a kid, but I always wanted to read them. After listening to Mike Lawrence talk, I wanted to check out some comics. I started with X-Men "Days of Future Past" and from there the door opened. Thanks for a great podcast! (Side note, keep talking about wrestling! ((Just include some TNA talk please))

    Love the show
Hey guys I think you're great. Been listening to all the old stuff for about four days straight now after I watched an episode of toy hunter and discovered you guys. My question for you is, what comics would you guys recommend as must reads? I have never gone to a comic shop and personally never thought much of them but after listening to how awesome some of the storylines are, I have no idea why I haven't collected before now. I just don't know where to start in the vast world of comic book series. Thanks guys and keep doin what you do.
  • The Rhythm Jew
    Neat podcast!
I've really enjoyed listening to this podcast! I found out about it through finding out about Mike Lawrence (who I found out about through being a big comedy fan and listening to his other podcast work!) He is the best! All of these hosts are too! I highly recommend it! I look forward to listening to future episodes.

    Great listen!
Just discovered the pod from Toy Hunter. Listened to 4 episodes and now I'm hooked! Going to look for some of Mike Lawrence's standup albums...I'm now a fan!

    my favorite
I like this the most. I can't say enough good things about them. My favorite episode was the one about collecting Marvel action figures because it captured some real pain but ended with "bros before hos".
  • TAGBeans
    Great, great podcast
Mike Lawrence, Jake Young, and Marcus Parks are FANTASTIC. These guys know their comics; they are the nerd friends I wish I had. The topics they choose are interesting, thoughtful, and most importantly, HILARIOUS. There are some "meh" episodes, which are few and far between; they are mostly consistent. As I live in Los Angeles and they are NY-based, I am extremely jealous that New Yorkers get to see them do their thing. The only reason I didn't give a perfect score? They should make more than weekly episodes!! I know, I know, this ain't a full time job for them, BUT I NEED MORE.
  • B. Gold
    surprisingly accessible!
I am a fairly typical, neither tomboy nor obese/tattooed female who cares about nothing in the world less than comic books or video games and this is still my favorite podcast. The clever cracks never stop, everyone is eloquent and even when I don't know what the hell they're talking about I'm still laughing because they're talking about it in the voice of some hilariously spot-on celebrity impression. Their informal just-shooting-it-with-friends format is energetic and entertaining and a refreshing departure from the one-on-one, interview-based podcasts that so many bigger name comedians are doing now that are slow and usually not funny. I only wish there were more of them- I'm actually starting to listen to episodes twice!

A balm for the nerdy corner or my soul
Years ago I collected and avidly read comics, but now I can only manage an occasional trade paperback (a couple of the latest - The Walking Dead, Madame Xanadu). This podcast has been so much fun to listen to and immerse myself in the pen and ink world of comics, plus movies (LOVE the movie critiques/debates), video games and imaginative TV shows. I love the play between Mike, Jake and Marcus and look forward to many more episodes!

Mike Lawrence and Jake Young put it down!

    Comic nerd goodness
Funny, nerdy podcast. Especially good for comic book geeks. I only wish it was longer!

    Nerdgasm
Awesome. Hilarious and informative. It's liking talking to the older and wiser nerd friends I never had for a half an hour. Guests just blend right in with it too. Time is short enough to be consistent throughout, but long enough to make it worth listening to. Please keep it going.

Nerd, nerd, nerd. Nerd is the word.
Who doesn't like Mike Lawrence? That alone would make a great podcast. But wait! There is more. Who's managing both the ones and twos? That has to be a four or five man team, right? WRONG! It's only one guy. ONE GUY! Marcus Parks. What? You're calling me a liar? By the wrath of mighty Odin, I shall strike you down for such an insult! So, you think that all there is to it, huh? Wrong again! Jake Young is in the mix as well as loads of guest. Everyone involved with the show gives an honest insight to all things nerdy with out any of the slurping, foul smells, or annoying elitist attitude commonly found in nerd herds.
  • TheMikeC
    BEST nerd podcast around
Even as someone who doesn't read comics the conversations involving obscure comic characters and stories are still hilarious. Mike Lawrence and Jake Young busting out into random songs or long impersonations is comedy gold. Things like that usually fall apart on other podcasts but they are kept on track by exceptional hosts. Great job guys.

    Been Marathoning it All Week
As someone who has always considered themselves a nerd and has fairly recently gotten into comics, I find this podcast endlessly entertaining, informative, and affirming. I love how they embrace the good and bad of comics, sci-fi, video games, wrestling, etc. with a wonderful sense of humor and appreciation. Even the episodes about things I don't know about are extremely enjoyable. I recommend this to anyone who likes any number of the topics discussed.

    Bring You Nerd A Game
Nerd of Mouth is simply awesome! Mike, Jake, & Marcus talk about all things nerdy and do so with humor and fun. Discussions include, comics, video games, comedy, tv, movies, wrestling, and pretty much anything considered nerdy. Always funny Always Great. Oh bring your nerd A game to this show, no hand holding here, just they way it should be.
  • Mattokatamari
Perfect Mix of Nerdy and Comedy
One of the best up-and-coming podcasts out there. Mike and Jake are awesome! They cover nerdy topics (of which they have an encyclopedic knowledge of) and have great insight while being hilarious. After you listen to these guys talk honestly about what they love (or hate), you wonder why nerds get such a bad rap in the first place. Even if you don't know much about comics, wrestling, or are only a casual Simpson's fan, it's worth a listen. Get ready to have all of your preconceived notions about nerds confirmed in the most excellent way possible.
  • Hectatrifecta
    Hilarious and authentic
Even when I'm not myself 100% familiar with the particular topic of the episode I'm still laughing balls. This and NYC Crime Report were my intro to Cave Comedy Radio, whose other shows are just as essential! Great stuff
  • Cubicle Listener
    Excellent Podcast
The first time I heard Mike Lawrence was his initial appearance on Keith and the Girl. I absolutely fell in love with his super-geek persona and he certainly doesn't dissapoint here. These guys are phenomenal.

    Hilarious street-level comics podcast
Consistently funny, never afraid to go too far too soon, and features the best Stan Lee impressions on the internet. If you're into comics, video games, RPGs, anime, manga, or any other nerdy thing you can think of, you'll find good company here.
