I know Jack all about basketball but this show has taught me a lot and it’s fun to hear these men banter so passionately about the topic. I’m sure if you like basketball it’s worth a listen

If you didn’t understand my heading… that’s a GOOD THING! It makes me make an audible sound when I see a new episode posted. This show is posted very rarely but is my favorite podcast on the podcast apps! Billy and Amir are a great duo and lead an amazing and funny conversation about the NBA!

Just wanted to say that I had never followed basketball but when Amir announced the pod and the first episodes started coming out, I listened to a few and loved them so much even with a passing knowledge of the NBA that I knew I had to learn more. Since then Buckets has inspired me to me become an avid fan, I have made some great friends through it, and this has grown to be my favorite podcast. Every episode is great but the last ~15 minutes of this week’s episode with Skeets is truly a gem.

So glad Amir does this podcast, the conversational style makes it my favorite basketball podcast. Feels like chatting about sports with friends.

I don’t enjoy boring Newscaster reading from a prewritten script. I enjoy Amir. It’s fine being prepared, but be yourself. It’s weird hearing you sound so narrated.

The most entertaining sports podcast or show that I have seen or listened to. Always great and interesting takes that are ahead of the rest of the field such as the steph curry pat machines comparison, Kawhi being the potential best player in the league, and many more. I enjoy every second of the podcast and the only problem is that it doesn’t come out every day. Big fan.

The short in depth monologues at the beginning of each episode are the single best part of any given episode and deserve to be cherished

I started listening to this podcast solely because I love Amir’s comedy, and despite the fact that I had never watched a basketball game in my life. Now, I know all the storylines, can watch and talk basketball with my friends, and even found an underdog to root for. Thanks for inspiring me to waste all my free time watching games and reading trade rumors!

Hey Amir, I couldn't figure out how to write into buckets specifically so here I am. I don't know anything about basketball, and have never written to you before, but I love J&A and I guess the endless string of seemingly random basketball names in my ear at work soothes me. Anyway Amir, I know you wanted to know the answer to to your statistics problem from the draft episode of buckets, so here is an explanation in terms you might understand..... Imagine there are 100 acorns. Each one a percentage point in earning the number 1 draft pick. 2 of the acorns are blue to represent the Lakers 2% chance at number 1 pick. Lets say the grizzlies have a 3% chance at first pick, the pelicans 4% chance, and the Nicks 5% chance. That means, after all other teams have been called out, and only the top 4 teams are left, all other acorns for the NUMBER 1 pick have been wiped out of the pile. Now there are only 14 acorns left. 2 for lakers, 3 for grizzlies, 4 for pelicans, and 5 for nicks. Now, at this point, the Lakers have a 2/14 chance at the number 1 pick. Or a 14.3% chance. This process can be repeated for each team, and each pick number, to find what their chances at each pick position would be after they cut down to top 4 teams. Hope this Helps! I’ve been a fan of Amir’s for around a decade, maybe slightly more, and this podcast is maybe my favorite thing he’s ever done. I’ve followed him and Jake since the early days of J&A, and this podcast has not only been enjoyable to listen to, but one I eagerly await week to week. His serious knowledge makes it content rich while his laidback, albeit fast paced, style and those of his guests makes it easy to listen to. Can’t recommend this podcast enough to fans of either comedy or the NBA, and especially fans of both.

When will Ben Schwartz be back? You guys going back and forth sounds just like my friends and I. Big fan, would love to meet you guys someday.

While my knowledge of basketball was always very casual I was hesitant to start listening. However, after binging the whole series in a matter of the few days, I’m ready to debate Skip Bayless himself. The show is perfect for super fans and novices alike. The written intros need to come back and Billy Scafuri needs to be the permanent co-host. Great show 10/10

I love the podcast. Amir is in my top five all time favorite comedians, and his conversation with guests are fast paced and funny. This podcast has brought me from a casual warriors fan closer to a hardcore NBA fan. I wish there were more episodes!

I’ve always been a fan of Jake and Amir, all of their various projects, and this podcast is funny, informative, and easy to digest! You’re the best, Blumenfeld! Can’t wait for more episodes!

Amir’s infectious giggle and whoever he has on that week will combine to make you laugh, guaranteed. You don’t even have to like basketball that much to enjoy this podcast. Just listening to two people who are so into a particular subject is interesting by itself. Bonus: it’s funny.

Love it, not a typical basketball podcast, very focused on mid-90s to early 2000s with some current day as the drama happens. Question for Amir: Why did Walt “Clyde” Frazier not get a shout-out for best C nickname?

I'd fancy myself a sports aficionado and I can proudly say that this is the best basketball podcast out there. Amir knows so much about March madness strategy. For example, always pick Texas A&M because it'd be two teams versus one, so it'd be a suckers bet to go with anybody but them. Amir is a natural athlete and DEFINITELY not a chipmunk. Todah.

this is the best, funniest, most listenable, least bro-y basketball podcast i’ve heard! really enjoying it, though i agree with a previous commenter that it could be a bit less Laker-centric.

Amir let me start by saying I love the podcast as a whole. However, I am sick of consistently hearing about an hour of Laker talk. I understand they are an exciting team and you are clearly overjoyed to be a relevant team again. My solution is to bring me on the show; as a barely 18 year old Mavs fan in Arkansas I will offer a fresh new perspective this show desperately needs.

This podcast is great for NBA/comedy nerds! There’s plenty of stats and anecdotes for both subjects. An absolute must listen for anyone remotely interested in comedy or basketball. Keep it up, Amir!

OJ Mayo. Second in rookie of the year. Huge hype. Then he fell, but not from my heart. Now he is in Africa hunting lions with a tribe? Please do an episode regarding him. Also, OJ Mayo is short for orange juice mayonnaise.
