Honey

119

Julia Meltzer interviews real couples about their fights: how, why, whose fault is it, do you still love each other - the JUICY stuff. At times hilarious, at times painful, at times full of heartbreakingly raw honesty, these conversations expose truths about love, human beings, and the concept of partnership.

    Fun, easy and educational
Honey is the best if you’re navigating a relationship, have before, or will in the future! It goes through different personality types, what makes and breaks couples and sets realistic expectations for what relationships are really like. Simple and endearing. Light hearted. Lovely. Will it be back???

    How couples fight
I really like this podcast. You hear from couples about how and why they fight, how they communicate, and what they struggle with. It’s sweet, and you learn something interesting about relationships with each episode. I really like the host, Julia. She is funny and curious and seems honestly interested in figuring out how relationships work.

    Love this podcast!
I love starting my week with Honey! I love listening to real people talk about real life.. and I love that Julia doesn't let people act like they don't fight! Great podcast for people who are in a relationship or single...!

    Julia is fantastic!
I could listen to Julia talk about just about anything and be happy to listen; she's funny, insightful, and engaging. Her talking about couples fights just makes it that much better. I do wish there were more couples outside of LA. I think relationship culture is significantly different around the country and I'd love to learn more about that.

If you like listening to strangers...
I'm the type of person that used to look at random people's Livejournals back in the day, so I find it fascinating to listen to random couples talk about their relationship issues. Production is decent, host is good. Subscribed!

    This show is important
With so many unrealistic expectations about what relationships this show is an amazing insight into what makes real relationships work, what concessions people make, and how many different ways happiness looks. Julia does a fantastic job allowing people to be their perfectly flawed selves, and we, the listeners, benefit.

    basically therapy
I love this show! I was actually going through a rough patch in my relationship and this really helped me realize that ALL couples have issues and it's all about how you work through those together. it's great knowing that there's no such thing as a "perfect" relationship. Also Julia is a GEM and I love her laugh.

    Love it!
Julia does a great job interviewing the couples and asks the right follow up questions. I love that each episode is different, just like the couples and their relationships.

    Good, but...
When I first discovered this podcast I binge listened like 3 episodes a day..i loved it! Over time however there are a a few things I wish were different. I wish there was more diversity within the couples. I assume it must be hard to interview couples who aren't LA based and who are in the acting/theater/improv community but I wish we heard more from people who don't have that background. Also, not very many (if any) people of color are featured on the show. I still love the podcast and recommend to people all the time just wish it was a little more inclusive of the various different types of couples out there who have different career paths, ethnic backgrounds, gender roles etc

    A show for all couples!
I can't tell you how much I enjoy this exploration into relationships! Hearing about love and the conflict couples face at all steps in a relationship, its helped me and my wife so much. I reccomend this show to all my friends as a great lesson in different ways to face conflict and help resolve issues within a relationship.

    Better Than Therapy
This has become one of my favorite podcasts and my go-to thing to listen to when I'm alone in the car. Julia Meltzer talks with couples about how they fight and it's SO GOOD. Not only is it hilarious and entertaining, it's also VERY REAL. In today's world of social media where so many people feel pressure to share how perfect their lives are, it can be discouraging to look around and think everyone else has it so together and wonder what the heck is wrong with you. Julia has interviewed couples of all kinds: dating, living together, engaged, married (ranging from newly married all the way up to 45 years married), broken up, gay, straight, etc. The ah-ha! moments they share are deep, moving, and applicable to so many relationship situations, even non-romantic ones. Seriously, listen to this podcast... you won't regret it!

    Not too bad, but...
Interesting podcast and guest, but why does it seem like the host and her female guest all speak through their nose?

    I love love!
I've been meaning to write this review for a long time. I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Julia when Honey was but a teenager and it was the most fun I've had with a stranger. Julia is a fantastic interviewer and natural conversationalist. I love hearing stories about how people met and what they fight about and this podcast is that! Super fun & real AF.

Solid foundation - more variety, please!
I love this podcast! Full of funny stories, good advice, and so much insight into the highs and lows of our most important relationships. My one complaint is that there's not much variety in the couples interviewed - lots of twenty and thirty-something LA-area artists. I'd love to hear more from older couples who have experienced more of life together, have kids, other professions, live somewhere outside California, etc -more Justin & Isley-type couples, please!

Everything you could want in audio entertainment!
I love feelings, couples, conflicts, conflict resolution, relationships, relationship advice, and snooping. If you enjoy these things too, you will enjoy this podcast. I been look forward to it every Monday morning.

    The guests are amazing!
I love the guests on this show. The host, however, has the radio's most nasal voice, which can get really annoying. And just when you think you've had enough, she throws in the vocal fry and makes it unlistenable. Buuuut, if you can put up with annoying voices, give this show a go!

    Incredibly endearing and fun!
I absolutely love this podcast - stories from real couples about what they struggle with but with lots of laughs and love. Definitely recommend!

    Amazing!
I absolutely love this podcast! Julia and her guests are so funny and talk about everything from big issues to the smaller things that really drive you nuts. It makes me want to go to LA just to have a chance to be on this show!

    Compulsive Listening!
Like being a fly in the wall for the most intimate of conversations. Love the host and love the guests!

    Meh Podcast
This podcast is mostly a bunch of rambling (and not funny or witty rambling) without direction or any thoughtful material. Its only redeeming quality is that the couples who are guest speakers are relatable humans. Listening felt like being stuck at dinner with three random people while obliged to listen to them talk aimlessly about their drunken fight. I appreciate the effort given to share thoughts on the topic of romance and relationship but it is otherwise not a noteworthy podcast.

    I heart Julia Meltzer
Julia is such a great host - genuinely curious about people, insightful, and so good at getting people to open up. These range from amusing and sweet to cautionary tales, but they always make me think about my own life in new way while being entertained. Yay, Honey!
