Hey guys, I have an idea for QBs (or anyone else with the ball) to be able to give themselves up on a play. Why not just give the fair catch signal? There is no situation where a ball carrier would ever waive their hand above their head and it is an immediate and obvious signal that is already in the game. I think you could legislate that the nearest defender must be 3-5+ yards away to be flagged for contact. It allows a ball carrier to clearly signal they’ve given themselves up while still allowing them to brace for incidental contact from an athletic position instead of the compromised position of a slide or a dive. It would also be very easy to institute a penalty for a “fake waive”, where they waive but don’t go above shoulder level, like has been done for some punt returns in the past. Keep up the great work guys!

Fine enough podcast, definitely interesting topics and context. Both Kyle and Mike are great but I wish they had more chemistry as a duo. Kyle esp is a gem - I really miss hearing him on Green Light. Any chance he can do both??

Bring back Pick Six! How lame to ditch a long running podcast without saying a word to your loyal listeners. This podcast is dry. I tried to give it a chance. Moving on.

CBS’ Pick Six NFL podcast had plenty of flaws, it wasn’t buttoned up, sure. The thing it had was authenticity. Will and the Super Friends brought a fun and unique perspective to the weeks slate of games. It was a fun convo with friends. In the football content landscape it’s hard to stand out, Pick Six embraced what it was. To abandon that and replace it with a stiff and boring sports podcast is sadly just another example of programming not being in touch with its audience. Ultimately CBS doesn’t care and that’s apparent.

I really tried to give this show a chance before I wrote this. Man, I really like Kyle long as a life long bear fan but he just can’t podcast. If this was supposed to replace the picks six pod it missed horribly. Not even close to a “picks/gambling” show. Brinson brought life to the pod and the actual NFL news and debate was much more vibrant. Not on board with this new one.

Was a loyal listener of the PicK Six Podcast for years. When It went radio silent, then was rebranded and showed up with new hosts I tried to this podcast the benefit of the doubt with an open mind. Unfortunately, this podcast is nowhere near as enjoyable as the pick six podcast. It’s way to dry and after half of the season of giving them a chance, I have to give up on it. It’s just not enjoyable. Perhaps my biggest frustration is not with the Pushing the Pile Podcast, but with CBS. Firstly this feels like bait and switch and fake marketing. CBS tried to take the ratings, reviews, and reputations of the old podcast and funnel it directly into this podcast. It’s complete B.S. Who knows what happened to Branson, Breech, and the others, but not addressing that something happened with your loyal listeners is kinda crappy. HEY CBS, All you had to do was say you were going in a different direction with the pod, but instead you pulled the old nothing-to-see-here switcheroo. Disappointing at best. THIS IS NOT A NEW VERSION OF PICK SIX PODCAST. ITS A NEW PODCAST, UNDER A NEW NAME, WITH NEW HOSTS. MAKE A NEW PODCAST FOR IT. I’ve been personally struggling to find a replacement for the Pick Six podcast, so for those of you in the same position, the Football podcasts I still enjoy are Chris Simms Unbuttoned and the PFT family of Podcasts with Mike Florio. So far, NBC has been better to its listeners then CBS.

I’m not sure why the ratings are so low for this show. This is my favorite football podcast easily. Question for Kyle: If you could have a podcast with 3 other O linemen talking about your time in the game, who would they be? I would want to hear from Joe Thomas and Orlando Pace.

I would love to leave a good review of Pushing the Pile, as I’ve been a devoted fan of CBS Sports for years, podcasts and all. (I think they’re clearly better than ESPN.) However, this podcast just is sorely lacking when compared to something like the CBS Cover-3 college football one. It’s not easy to put my finger on it, but perhaps not enough humor, or too much of a monotone sound. It’s literally like watching paint dry the hosts systematically talking through each game in a mundane manner. I think they’re both knowledgeable, and some of the technical aspects of the game that Long knows by playing it are interesting. However, the Pete Prisco visit on Tuesday is the best thing they do all week. That is because, whether you agree with his opinion or not, he relays emotion and incurs passionate responses. I don’t hear that much in the hosts, especially Mike. Perhaps a third host would help. Either way, in my opinion, CBS can and ought to do better for something as great as the NFL.

When it’s working it’s a pretty interesting show. I came from listening to Mikes old shows and ever since Tailgate/2 for 1, I don’t think he’s been used the best. He did so well when there was a fast paced conversational person like Austin G. The issue is Kyle feels too much like a clogger of that. I don’t personally care that deeply about the deep player insights and there’s some kind of allegory or story to EVERYTHING. Isn’t my taste but maybe others love it. There have still only been a couple months of shows so hopefully if picks up. Missin that 2 for 1 chemistry though.

No offense to these hosts but this show is so dry and boring. Pic Six Podcast was so fun to listen to and as a loyal cbs podcast listener I’m really struggling to listen to this new show.

I listen to numerous football podcasts and pick six was the best one. Really disappointed it got replaced with this. The super friends provided much better content and energy!

Bring back the Pick 6 podcast!!!!

My question is about TJ and JJ Watt. I know that at his peak, JJ is probably a top 2-3 dlineman of all time, but how close are we to acknowledging that TJ might end up with the better overall career. Tj has a dpoy, has won the sack title in 3 separate seasons, and tied Strahans record in less than 16 full games played. Since Big Bens elbow exploded in 2019, we only win when TJ literally gifts our offense the ball in enemy territory. TJ leads the league in forced fumbles by a mile since coming into the NFL and is only 24 away from the all time record which isn’t that far fetched when he gets 5-7 a season. Obviously JJ has 3 dpoy, but I would argue that TJ should have at least one more (he has finished in 2nd twice and 3rd another time), but I think JJ winning 3 has actually hurt him bc of voter fatigue. What do you guys say? When we look back who will the better Watt be?

Listened to the Pick Six podcast faithfully for years; I do not dig three hosts with chemistry and history being pushed out the door. CBS is already struggling to compete in the sports commentary space and they jettisoned the one thing that worked.

Replaced the excellent pic six podcast and this is just boring not sure why they downgraded

Mike and Kyle do a great job of providing insights into the games from different perspectives.

It’s sad that the talent of Brinson and Breech have been silenced (miss you Ryan yet still hear you) without a reason and replaced by a subpar NFL recap podcast with Kyle Long because of his brother’s channel, that Kyle is no longer on

I gave this show a few listens and it just isn’t it for me. It’s very monotone, there is no energy, and the audio quality sounds awful. The Pick Six Podcast was great. The fans at least deserved a heads up saying that show would be no more. I hope CBS can bring back the Pick Six Podcast. I would give 0 stars if that was an option.

Pick 6 was unique and fun. This is just like every single other NFL podcast with a former player. There are a dozen of this exact podcast, indistinguishable from the next.

We did not subscribe to this show, replacing a great pod with this one with no explanation is ridiculous.

This is a must listen nfl related podcasts. The two main hosts truly balance each other well and get along great. Long provides really interesting player perspective, in a way that most shows usually fail at.

I don’t usually write reviews for shows, but I’ve been going through some of these reviews and I don’t understand it. This show has been awesome so far. Seems like the only reason some people have left bad reviews is because their not pick 6? I feel like those people haven’t actually listened to the show. Renner is great and Kyle brings a new dynamic when it comes to O line and D line. (Oh and someone left a bad review bc they said Vick was good at football 😂😂) This is one of the few shows that actually watches the tape of the games and doesn’t just hit you with highlights and box scores. This has been awesome so far and I bet it only gets better when they start adding in prospect/draft talk later in the season.

This show has no energy. Really miss listening to the quirkiness and energy of Pick Six. Gotta go elsewhere.

It would have been a 4 but you have to talk so positively about a dog killer.

Where is Pick Six podcast and what is this garbage I didn’t ask for? Five star reviews here were for the former show, not this mess.

Why would you cancel a good podcast and replace it with this hot garbage. Was excited to start listening to Pick Six crew again now that football season is back and was so disappointed to see this. Get Will, Breech and Wilson back on a show together. It was literally the only good football content that CBS puts out. This slight of hand change is so wrong.

Where’s the Pick 6 podcast I have been subscribed to for years now? I want that back. Quit jamming other NFL podcasts at me. Bring back Will Brunson, John Breech, Sully and the others. CBS drank too many tuffies and now they are making bad decisions. Unsubscribe coming right after this review.

Nothing against these guys, but where are Breech, Brinson, and Wilson? Bring them back!

I was actually ready to give this a good review until I heard one of the hosts compare the quality of one team to women’s appearances (taking off glasses and getting a blowout—seriously???). Join the 21st century and recognize that women are football fans too.

Pick Six was good, whatever this is is hot garbage.

This change is bad, I’ll just take it off the list.

Trying to sneak this pod into the feeds of an audience that subscribed to a different show with a different cast is shady at best. Brinson, Breech, Wilson, et al built this feed—at least have the decency to start a new one.

CBS decided to replace the pick six podcast feed with this garbage. Don’t let the old 5 star reviews fool none of those were for this absolute trash podcast

Don’t do explicit! Colin tried to place foul-mouth podcast on my phone. Eliminated all his company of podcasts—including HIM!

Wow. You unceremoniously get rid of Pick Six without even a final show and then one day dump this boring garbage in our timeline and think we won’t notice. Two dudes with no chemistry saying things you can hear a million dudes say is not a podcast and just because Chris Long has charisma doesn’t mean his brother does.

Pretty lame to silently kill a podcast and just switch the header. I didn’t subscribe to this junk. Justice for Brinson.

heard brinson on gregg’s new show this morning, and will was not introduced as the host of pick six. lame way to go out. this show, and will and breech deserved better.

Did I miss something ? Haven’t heard a show in a long time!
