This is by far my favorite murder podcast. Their voices are so soothing. They have great information. I love the stilted small talk at the beginning. They're just awesome.

Love the podcast! But cmon don’t sit there and act like victims about the chiefs. People don’t hate the chiefs because “they’ve won enough”. You know it, we all know it. Giving you a 5 star review because I love the podcast but can’t let yall get away with the nonsense.

It makes no sense but it’s true - listening to Justin and Aaron calms me down. I found this show a few months ago and was immediately hooked - went back to the oldest episodes on Wondery and listened all the way through to current then joined the patreon for more haha. I was not into the true crime genre before finding gen why but this pod and these hosts are outstanding. I really enjoy the way they present cases and I feel like I’ve learned so much about our courts and the justice system, which I’ve never interacted with directly. Really valuable knowledge. With the chaos of the world, somehow gen why helps me relax and calm down (I don’t get it either ;)). I also love Marooned!! Great storytellers with intelligent, nuanced perspectives. Thank you, Justin and Aaron!!

Entertaining but not cringy

I enjoy the perspectives of the hosts. Some of the cases I’d heard of and others I hadn’t.

I love these guys! They routinely present a well researched, unbiased opinion on a subject. However, this doesn’t mean I feel they arent sympathetic, just that they tell the story fairly. They definitely have a basic understanding of criminal procedure and apply a common sense, emotionally neutral approach. I yell at my speakers far less for these guys than I do most other true crime podcasts that seem to jump at conclusions too early or are otherwise completely clueless as to how our legal system is set up.

Tired of getting ads even though I subscribe to Wondery+. I listen on Apple Podcasts.

I tried listening to a few of the episodes but I couldn't finish any of them. The hosts are biased and very anti-police.

The McCoy episode was terrible. No research… they repeated Wikipedia. 5 minutes of research using brave shows Richard McCoy story.. this version of podcast isn’t even close to the truth

Aron and Justin tell these crime stories with facts and compassion. I like their analysis at the end of the episodes. It’s not too much, just enough to wrap things up and give their common sense opinions, always rational and thoughtful. These are serious crimes, lives lost, and Aron & Justin treat these stories with respect. They both have great voices for podcasting, too!

Not annoying at all, voices are soothing and pleasant. Stories are easy to follow and straight to the point.

Justin and Aaron are such great storytellers. You can tell they do extensive research to ensure we get all of the information. A major plus for me is they only spend a couple of mins off the top talking about “news and notes.” I love that they get right into the story!

Justin’s voice is like silk to my ears and Aaron is the perfect storytelling compliment. Great podcast. Compelling discussion. Soothing delivery.

The hosts have a great rapport and the wide ranging subjects are always thought provoking.

I’ve been listening to these guys for many years, and they’re still one of my top favs!! They do a good job of remaining neutral while presenting the facts.

And that my fiancé and I guess if it’s gonna be “how ya doing tonight Aaron” or “how ya doing tonight Justin” during the intro music. If we are right, we go “NICEEEE”

Excellent discussion of cases with centrist to no political bias. Absolutely refreshing in an era of vicious attacks on anything perceived as leaning toward one type of political spectrum. Aaron and Justin have an extensive number of episodes to enjoy

You guys get me through long work shifts and I hope you know I appreciate yall. Wish yall did more high profile political and societal things such as OKC and the Unabomber but nonetheless, great podcast.

I always listen from the beginning. Announcements and all. Sometimes I listen more than once because I love to fall asleep to you guys and then relisten while getting ready the next morning. I would ask that the music at the end not happen though.

My favorite podcast to fall asleep to (in the best way!!!) if soothing sleepy time tea was a voice/podcast duo. {The exit outro music is super loud tho- is my only critique}

Probably the best in the true crime genre, I strongly recommend

I been listening to generation why since at least 2014– when did yall begin ??? I love this podcast and recommend it to everyone. Having listened for so long I have seen how Justin and Aaron have adapted their language such as using the term sex worker etc. My go to favorite with crimelines.

It takes me a solid year before I will review a podcast. I am so easily irked and these guys don’t irk me at all which is a wonderful refreshing thing.
